Title: HHKB Lite (KB-9975 / PD-KB100NB) - Steam Punk Key HELP
Post by: CaptCarrot on Sun, 25 May 2014, 17:23:02
I recently acquired a PS/2 HHKB Lite.  The plan is to build it into something and steam-punk it.

But I have hit a stumbling-block - I'm being lazy so I am borrowing the photo from this thread -Topic: What Keycaps? (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=48845.0) ;)

Obviously, I don't want to destroy the HHKB keys, in case I want to re-use them.  Short of buying a complete replacement set, is there any other way that you can think of that will allow me to add steam-punk style (think typewriter) keys?

Also, if searching for replacement keys, is there any specific name for this type?

Thanks.

HHKB Lite keyboards are not expensive - the best option might be to buy another one or two.

Or I have seen other rubber dome keyboards that are even cheaper, but which have similar keycap stems.

Thanks.

I just pulled a cap off a keyboard at work and it seems the same - time to hit the charity shops methinks.
