I`m waiting for my British ISP - VirginMedia to give me a free upgrade to 100 Mbs - up from 60Mbs in the next month or two.
Meanwhile, my Download speed and Ping time is okay but my Upload speed is terrible and you can`t change the ratios without jumping ship.

hahaha. Yes in America where most user still have connection over 50+ years old copper ran by greedy companies who are also mostly now owned by major movie/television. As far as internet goes many others are so far ahead. But then most other countries don't have such massive distances to cover, plus having the telco and mostly in effect ISP ran by the state or at least seriously regulated as a utility helps in a huge way also. I hope we can get the FCC proposal to turn ISPs into utility here in USA... it might help reign them in some and maybe even force them to start putting some work into infrastructure upgrade.

Well, if we had competing energy companies the prices would be lower. Sure, if you're going to settle for a monopoly, a government-owned monopoly is probably better, but why aren't we fighting for competition instead? That's the best way for consumers to win.
At this point I don't really believe consumers can win, just loose less. Sure competition is good... but you have issues like who owns the lines, and how do you allow competitors to use them? Surely running 7 different sets of utility lines down the street isn't really a good way to go. Now assuming we get past that, we still need heavy regulation and oversight to make sure those different companies are not in collusion and doing things like price fixing schemes.
Now lets say, we have a grid that is owned and maintained by your city/county/state who then leases that to X companies to serve the public... that could work maybe. But also, at that point why not just let the entity that controls the grid take care of the service? The only question then, is a state run monopoly better or worse than a sanctioned private monopoly?
If we apply the same scenario to ISP, where instead of power grid, we have some government entity in charge of installing and maintaining fibre... we might have a snowballs chance in catching up to other developed nations. We already see that most ISP can't be bothered to do it. I am sure they are quite content collecting $50/mo for 7-15mbps on minimally maintained copper their great grandfathers laid while throttling that access for various activity/content types. Actually investing in their infrastructure might dip into the ceo's multimillion dollar salary after all!

This is through AT&T surprisingly. I typically don't like them. Best service I ever had was from COX. But I have been enjoying these speeds.

Agreed. My internet is so awful that it literally crashes whenever I try to backup to Google Drive or stream to twitch. What's even worse is that over there in Riverton everyone has 10-11mbps internet, but a couple of suburbs away in Parkwood, we only get a max of 0.4, 0.5 if we're lucky.

By default, any room you set up in becomes a basement regardless of geo/atmospheric location

FIOS is all good times compared to cable interwebs.
My uploads aren't capped by them, as far as I can tell. I cap my torrent uploads at 200 connections and 200 MB/s total upload speed. I can upload a 15 gig file in under 10 minutes (to dropbox/youtube).
One thing that messed with my upload/download speeds was the "killer networking" software that came with my computer. It was throttling everything until I uninstalled it...
As a test I just uploaded a 1 GB VOB file to dropbox, and it averaged 180Mbp/s? The file was "done" uploading in 52 seconds. As for trackers, it's random tpb magnets or nyaa.

drop box isn't throttled, for me it's only torrent upload.
I have seen it go to 2-300mbps , but they're mostly local connections, and range up to 40mbps max per connection.
This is different from behavior of seedboxes for example, where you can see full bandwidth on single connections.

I have 2Gbps symmetrical fiber, but the latest speed tests just aren't showing it..
But believe me, it's there... with a 1Gbps copper backup to boot.

My hardware couldn't handle 1Gbps so I downgraded to 500Mbps and saved some money.
