There are tradeoffs to every form of government.... ON PAPER

But, in reality, every corporation operates the same, with a strict hierarchy, and very little ladder movement once matured.

And ultimately ALL government will be financially constrained and manipulated by the most influential financiers.. Banks...

This is the nature of Humans... not government...  No one is to blame..(http://emoticoner.com/files/emoticons/onion-head/full-onion-head-emoticon.gif?1292862505)

I for one, welcome our new ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) overlords

this is not accurate..   No ONE person is in full control,  not even a small group..  Every person has equal influence.. it's just that when it comes to Quantifying that influence,  we have very loose and arbitrary standards as to what constitute observable change..

That is what is responsible for this seeming existence of an overlord...  but the reality is, no such power exists...   I honestly wish it did... but history has repeated poorly over and over, WHY?  because no such parent power exist to tame the inconsistent human condition...

LOL... not by the books...  but if you view it from my perspective of equal (unobservable) influence.. then we are in fact in a state of PERFECT democracy.

It works better than socialism, that's for sure.

How do we know it works better than socialism? No one has ever actually tried it. Pretty much everyone that claimed to be socialist/communist has simply been dictatorships with strong centralization. Humanity is too flawed with greed and power corruption to do it right.

Well, Democracy 3 seems to be getting mixed reviews, but none of them says much about it not working. Maybe you should reinstall it or update your drivers.

Greed and Corruption are necessary components to government... without them to keep the inefficiencies in check... governance would come to a screeching halt...

Greed and Corruption are not Black and White things...  Communication costs Among humans are simply too high for by-the-books democracy...

ONE DAY, when google is directly wired into our brains, and we are all connected to an omni-net... Then through some sort of hive mind system  we will pretty much have no need for greed and corruption, because Every body will see that, hey   you eat and poo and go to sleep... I DO THAT TOO.... hurray...  let's all go play some halo...

Working as in how it was intended back in the days of the French and American revolutions? No. It's certainly preferable to every other system tried so far, like tribalism, feudalism, communism, fascist/socialist dictatorship, anarchy, military junta, etc. though.

Humanity is too flawed with greed and power corruption to do it right.

This is it.

Experts agree that the US is closer to a plutocracy, now, than a democracy.

As long as *( corporations = people )* and *( money = speech )* greed will strangle freedom.
