Post by: motoyuki on Tue, 27 May 2014, 23:07:29
Looks like there's a group buy on the tex 60% aluminum poker case on massdrop.com. Just started a few minutes ago. Looks like it'll cost $114

Man these look nice. Does anyone know how they compare in quality to the ones that Pexon has available for sale?

Could you point me where does Pexon have those cases for sale, please. Concerning the ones on MD, the quality is very good in my experience and the small footprint works great with the general poker aesthetics.

These also come with aluminum feet. I wonder if the TeX cases sold by mechanicalkeyboards.com come with feet. They have more color options on Mk.com though.

The ones on MK appear to come with two sizes of rubber feet. If you check out the pictures of the bronze one you'll see.

Yeah... I have a case with those feet from TEX, and I can tell you that as someone who is used to some angle to my my keyboard, they don't achieve that. They do grip quite well though.

I like only a little angle on the board. Can this give you that option?

The feet on the Massdrop cases look so much better than the Mk.com rubber domes.

Dang...i thought I read somewhere that this was going to be the same price as the acryllic one...

I'm using the case from MK.com and the large rubber feet included are nice. And it comes with 2 full sets of feet in case anything fails. The group buy is nice, but with shipping, at least within the US, I'd probably pay the $5-10 more at MK so I got it within a week.

I ordered an acrylic, but I'm not going to use it. I'll have it posted on in the classifieds once I get it in the mail. Probably will just sell it for what I bought it for +shipping.

Yeah yeah yeah the webcam sucks. It had a bad run in with an overvolted laser diode...

Looking good. The metal feet (and the grey colour) are where the MD deal really has its appeal. I only got in on the acrylic, and that has no feet I believe.
