Title: Intermec Keyboards
Post by: 1391406 on Wed, 28 May 2014, 07:51:56
Anyone know anything about Intermec brand keyboards and why they're so expensive? Switch type?

As far as I can tell, they're ruggedized keyboards meant to be mounted in a vehicle.  That's about it.

#1 is a rugged kb suitable for vehicle, public access, possibly even military. Such markets commonly have super expensive keyboards. there's also a lot of expensive testing that the company has to recoup, etc.

I would contrast to a usmicroproducts kb, which costs a little less, and has cherry switches and metal keycaps. I want to get one eventually.

They are also a lot cheaper on the used market. Look at those pictures!!!

#2 looks like a g84 kb to me. not sure what's up with that.

Thanks for the info.

The KX065 looks interesting. It reminds me of the metal keypad at some ATM's.

Looks weird. The layout's different. I wonder why they bother to make a different layout.
