Title: TKL for customs keycaps, which one?
Post by: primosz on Wed, 28 May 2014, 11:49:50
Hi,
I was already in GB for Leopold 660m (browns) but after thinking it up I gave up due to non-standard space bar.
Now I own Razer blackwidow tournament 2013 (blue) but I would like another TKL with browns (office use), and being able to put custom keycaps on it.
Requirements: Browns, TKL or less (but with separate arrows), standard layout (for custom keycaps), under 140-150$.
So Leopold with standard space bar would be perfect for me but...

So I started looking:

Is CM QFR enough good that I won't regret buying it for next year or two? Maybe I have missed some model or there is a place to get shine 3 in Europe?

I actually did the same thing - passed on an FC660M in favor of something with a standard space bar.  Ended up with a QFR with browns and couldn't be happier.  If you're in the market for a cheap TKL board, it's hard to beat the QFR.

I found - http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=46059.0
And decided to go with QFR... will post some pics after getting it and some keycaps from GB.

Cheers!

Welcome to Geekhack!

Any of the above keyboards is fine.

I have QFR and QFS - QFR is still going strong after more than a year.

Get a naked WASD TKL. Yeah they're a bit pricier than the QFRs, but the quality is top notch.

There's the new Keyed Up Labs TKL boards to consider now too. They're coming out next week, so I expect to see some reviews coming out soon. They are a bit pricier than the QFR, but they claim to be making a high quality board. We shall see!
