So I have just realised that my SGS5 can take some really nice pictures. I seem to have problems uploading them, I tried here but my request just times out and I end up in start a new topic or a completely new post. Then I tried over at imgur but I get stuck at processing and it doesn't process.
Maybe my internet is just too slow, someone that knows anything about this or is good at this kind of stuff any tips are appreciated.
I also though about compressing the pictures but I am clueless on that end..
If this is in the wrong section please move it :)
Regards Moosecraft

I would say the file size is probably just too large.

Yeah how big are these pictures? There was a thread a week or so ago about timeouts when uploading large pictures. You'll definitely want to resize them to something reasonable.
-
They are at about 20mb, if this is too big how could I easily compress them?
-
20MB is way too big for casual pictures. That's pushing professional size (IMO). My pics are around 3M straight from the camera, and I usually resize them to 1024x768 for upload here.
The exception might be the Keycap & Keyboard Photography (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=43865.0) thread, wher even 20M would be a bit much, but you would typically upload one pic at a time.

Have you tried uploading it to another website such as flickr or tinypic.com? Could be imgur is acting weird, which it seems to do from time to time. I have the same phone and upload to imgur all the time without issue. The last picture I took was 4.6 MB.

The first thing you should check is what is the default resolution your photos are being taken at? I'm guessing it is on its highest setting, you could lower it and get more reasonable sizes.

If you are using a Mac, Preview can adjust the size for you in Tools - Adjust Size. Just save the file with the size in the filename (a convention I have adopted so I can easily identify different sized versions of the same picture).

Yeah the resolution is at 5312x2988, but if I lower my settings my pics always turn out ****ty haha. I guess I'll figure this out eventually
EDIT: Just uploaded to tinypic, was prolly imgur spooking out. Thanks for the help :)

Here is a program that I have used for years.
It is free and very easy to use. My internet connection is poor, and I have gotten into the habit of shrinking down anything I put up online. After about 200K-500K, the difference will not be seen on most people's monitor for casual viewing.
And for this forum, if you have more than a handful of moderate-sized pictures, you are better off putting them on Imgur and linking to them there.
