I got a Sears electric typewriter yesterday. It has an awesome set of super-thick spherical doubleshots.
Does anybody recognize the switch?
If somebody really wants the typewriter and is willing to pay the shipping, I might sell, let me know, but otherwise I bought it for the keys.
Any ideas where i could get the rest of semi-matching set? The spacebar looks to be just over 9x.

Did you forget to post a picture?
Edit: There they are. I thought it might be a Cherry M9 switch but I don't know for sure.

but yeah show us some pics!

Those caps are awesome... :D

I've seen those kind of switch, but not with MX compatible slider before. Usually they have a keycap with built in slider sort of similar to Topre key. I don't know what they are called or who made them though. The spacebar switch does look similar to M9 but it is not. The housing is totally different.

I may be able to get another one. Send me a PM somebody.

Did you actually try the caps on an MX switch yet? The stem supports look like they'll prevent the switch from depressing properly and I know someone had similar looking caps in the past where the stem was too big and didn't fit right either for the stem or in the housing.

I think this calls for some dismantling :D
PCB and switch desolder pics.

That spacebar. What the hell. How long is it?

Thanks for the tip.
Unfortunately, this is the case here. I carry my key puller and a Cherry cap around in the car so I can test in the field before I buy. In this case, the Cherry cap fit nicely on the stem in the store, but I did not consider the reverse.
These caps will not seat on the Cherry stems of my son's Filco.
