Title: IBM Model F-122 (allegedly)
Post by: Techno Trousers on Wed, 04 June 2014, 23:28:36
There's no picture of the back of the keyboard, but the layout and connector both say Model M to me. What do you guys think? I'd hate to think someone was trying to pull a fast one.

Picture is of a model M for sure (you can see there is no metal bottom pan on the front edge).

But he re-used that picture for like 5 auctions. Even the "english" model F is clearly a picture of a non-english (french?) layout.

I'd stay away. Returning this back to the seller in laval, qc would be expensive.

The description did note that the picture was not necessarily the item being sold. If you rely on the description, the 6110xxx will be an F.

Good luck. I bought an F from this seller, they sent me an M. Would have had to pay return shipping to Canada in order to get my purchase price and original shipping refunded, so I worked out a partial refund and kept the M-122. I would stay far, far away from this seller.

Seems like you're the only person to have issues and left feedback.

So hopefully they realized what's wrong and have fixed it. HOPEFULLY

Good luck to you Pacifist. I'm always put off by sellers who have an incorrect picture up, or a generic "representative of item" picture, which could be even worse if they cherry pick the best one to take pictures of.

Hopefully the seller was right with the model number and you'll be rocking the capacitive buckling spring really soon.

Which is why such listings always go for much less.

It's worth the maybe 5 mins to take a picture of what you're listing, otherwise the time for the listing is also a waste.

Actually lots of sellers do that. They're not really concerned about being right. Buyer protection is useless when shipping costs are high. It only helps when you are buying something light like RAM chips and return shipping is minimal.

Confirmed F. Seller doesn't a have chance to take pics, but assured me that there is a metal bottom and it says model f on it. :p
