Wow, awesome find! That'll make one of our ISO lovers very happy for sure.

How do you know that it is Space Invaders?

There is a photo of a switch.

I bought this board because I want the black switches (and what look to be very nice key caps) for another project.
I hate to take it apart, but I have been looking for a bunch of cheap black switches for a long time.
This looks like a very nice keyboard that somebody might want, as-is.
Make me a cash offer I can't refuse, and I won't refuse it, but I would also be very interested in trades involving broken keyboards that I can harvest 100+ black Hi-Tek switches from.
I also have enough white switches to re-transplant into this board to make a linear version, if that might appeal to anyone.

Woah, space invader board with a full size backspace... I wasn't sure that this existed.
-
What project are you going to do with them, fohat?
-
I finally found an true-ANSI-layout Hi-Tek board (in Apple layout, but my PC reads it conventionally) with white Hi-Teks and I intend to transplant the blacks.
Also, it has great-feeling PBT caps that are unbelievably retarded to look at, so this weekend I will try to determine if these mods will work.

I don't believe you.
Looking forward to this mod.

I don't believe you.
Which part don't you believe, Sam? The part about the standard layout? I hardly believed it myself! I was ecstatic when I actually had it in my hands and properly connected through a PS/2 plug.
Already pulled the caps and started cleaning.
As always, the part about Hi-Tek keys being utterly impossible is all too true.

You should also dye and paint it, when done with the swapping of switches.

No that's awesome, and I totally believe you about the board (though I do appreciate the pictures). I meant that I didn't believe those PBT keycaps look "unbelievably ugly".
In retrospect, I think I should have phrased my response better, and I do apologize for that.
-
those PBT keycaps look "unbelievably ugly".
Actually, they are not "ugly" so much as just stupid and useless.
They are green on beige, which normally would send me over the moon, but they are the most ridiculous font I have ever seen, extremely narrow and vertical, so as to be unreadable, and jammed hard tight against the left side of the keys.
They make the old regular Apple italic fonts, which I loathe, look like the picture of legibility and normalcy.

I was meaning to ask what "caps that are unbelievably retarded to look at" meant; but your explanation is awesome. :thumb:

They look worse in real life.

Wow, that's crazy. Looks like Arial Narrow.
