what do you mean by "inflated" ? Most places won't mark up prices above MSRP.

Well, for example I have followed the Leopold fc660c normally was 180 - - now to buy new is almst 240+ some places much higher. Then there is the type heaven Topre which when I first looked at it was $117 now it is $150ish. I followed a couple filco boards which were about 120 but now are being sold on sites for 180-200.

Maybe I am not remembering the prices correctly but I have been considering a purchase for some time now and believe that I have seen a general rise.

Q: What are the sites that won't sell over MSRP

Definitely check the classifieds, and also reddit.com/r/mechmarket. I've seen a few FC660Ms and Cs for sale there

Here's one for example, might still be available too: http://www.reddit.com/r/mechmarket/comments/274t9l/wtscanada_to_usa_or_canadaleopold_fc660c/

I think it's worth - esp cause the keycaps on the original fc660c are padprinted so they wear off easily;;

Sure, why not.

I've bought all of my keyboards from group buys, GH classifieds, Norwegian shops and keyboardco.com.

I bought my keyboards only from these 2 sources:

MechanicalKeyboards: https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/

Rabbit Web Factory: http://rabbitwebfactory.com/

Mechanicalkeyboards.com offers wider varieties while rabbit web factory has good customer service. Price wise, I think it depends on where you stay.

Was the Realforce Type Heaven really $117?

I thought it was a new board that just came out to market at $150. Lowest I've seen is $140 on Amazon.

There are some places that will.

But many keyboards you can find at times for significantly below MSRP, so I would say that MSRP is inflated.

Ok NCIX tends to be one of those places which tend to price above MSRP.

If you have a list of keyboards you want search by part number.

What I have noticed is that stock tends to come and go. Right now for many more mailine retailers stock is low, but in a couple of months you will be able to find what you want -- assuming of course that the model uis still being made.

I've never seen it that low, but there have been a few go in the classifieds for ~$130 (used).

As to the OP wanting either the FC660C or FC660M they go up in the classifieds fairly often and usually priced very well.

Also here is a thread asking the same thing which might have some helpful info http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=53483.0

Microcenter has a decent in-store selection. I was able to try boards with all the common Cherry MX switches and also Matias boards. That's better than most other electronics stores I've been in.

This, and kijiji, which is basically online classifieds for Canadians.

I also buy from NCIX, when I'm buying a new board.

The l;ast time I was in a Microcenter, they did have some keyboards but they were all boxed. They used to have a nice setup showing keyboards before mechanical keyboards were generally displayed in stores. They do have some Mattias but really only ione and a half ( Tactile Pro and Tactile Pro for Mac ). If  tried all Cherry flavors, you did so on different boards. Granted though, they do better then most stores. Online however their selection is quite small.

Mind you I do get my hard drives from there, but keyboards--no.

Microcenter is easily the best Brick and Mortar I've found to play with keyboards and keyboard switches. All of my current Razer switch experience is from playing with boards at MC. They're boxed up? Ask someone to open them.

Edit: Brick and mortar chain*

MechanicalKeyboards.com was the best storefront for boards I've found in the USA. I haven't visited EK's storefront but I think MK's selection is bigger.

I hadn't even thought of Microcenter. My nearest store is an hour away, but they have Ducky's in stock

My Poker II I picked up from Qtan, both Ducky's came from MK.com, and my Black Widow 2013, G710+, and 6gv2 came from Amazon.

I really like stock clear switches and the FC660M with clears is a good board. I used it for a few days and really liked it, I was getting used to the layout fairly quickly and the clear switches felt good and had no ping or anything. I need to get it back out and use it some more.
