Title: SIIG Minitouch PS2 Plus?
Post by: iggysaps on Thu, 07 May 2009, 02:42:45
Hi there.
Just registered and fairly new here.  Am currently using a cherry ML-4100, but am looking for other affordable space savers.  Saw the SIIG minitouch  plus on amazon PS2 going at $43.00.   If anybody has tried it, it seems worth the price, and would appreciate any feedback.  I think it comes with white alps copies.

This is a great site for keyboard enthusiasts, tons of information.  Just don't think I am ready to splurge on a topre or HHKB pro.

Thanks in advance.  I love your site!

Iggy

It looks like only older Siig Minitouch boards had white simplified Alps in them. Newer boards (such as those currently sold on Amazon) apparently are rubber dome.

See this thread (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?t=3865) for more info.

These are really horrid, unless you really like stiff rubber domes.  I have the btc version of this keyboard and it's the only keyboard that actually made my fingers hurt from typing on it.  I wish siig would go back producing the original simplified white alps fake keyboards.  Those are the best keyboards ever.  It only confuses everyone and makes the original siig impossible to find.
