Title: 45g Springs with MX Clears
Post by: esko997 on Mon, 09 June 2014, 21:32:19
Anyone ever done this before? Is there a name for this spring/switch combo? Just did it to my ErgoDox and it feels pretty cool so far -- definitely enjoying it.

I did that on my Filco. Super light. Very nice.

I like to call them...45g MX Clears :P

Make sure to lube them. I've tried other 45g Clear boards before and the modifiers would stick. They would press down and not return.

Korean 45g springs or springs from Blues / Reds / Browns? I like to use 62g Korean springs, lighter ones have a tendency to stick unless lubed since the bump is so large.

Also works best with worn-in switches. New ones will have a little more friction.
