Seems cool if it actually works

It hasn't been reviewed here before?

Considering the fair amount of effort various people have put into making wireless custom keyboards with only little success to be honest, this ought to be interesting to a few. It looks to be universal to, sort of a simple USB to wireless and back to USB converter which supports the entire USB protocol.
I foresee more than one person stripping it of its case and incorporating one end of the pair into a keyboard case.
-
I.. only expect this to create a severe amount of input lag?
-
Didn't someone put one of these and a model M together a long time ago?
-

There's been lots of posts on the handheld scientific bluetooth keyboard adapter.
-
Personally I don't get why anyone cares. You have to do things if it's wireless like replace batteries or charge something, and the keyboard just sits on the desk unmoving anyway. I do use a wireless kb/mouse for the HTPC, but it's domes because it's only used to type in show names on hulu or whatever.
Although I guess adding ability to use it on android might have a point...
-
If i can use it with a smallfry, that would be good
-
Using my keyboard on the couch is the biggest appeal of this for me. Hook my laptop up to the television, hook the adapter to my keyboard, and no wires to trip over. Kind of pricey, but still interesting.

The one on massdrop does not work with mac or the HHKB (because of the USB hub) just letting everyone know.
Reference: http://handheldsci.com/kb

Yes, it is a big turn off! I got it today and it only works with iPad! ARHGGH!!

it should be compatible with everything bluetooth. Handheld sci and massdrop say the following in the spec listing:
Compatible with iPhone/iPad, Android phones and tablets, Windows XP/7/8/tablets

Anyone know if it will work with a leopold 660c?

Sorry to necro an old thread but I think my question is relevant...
Has anyone found this thing to actually work well? I'm working on a Sprit 60% build (with leds) and I'm wondering if this would work well with this... I'd probably turn the leds off when it's not plugged into an outlet to preserve battery life.
-
I don't remember where I saw it but about 1/4 users never got it to work and several had bad lag. Sorry.
-
That's a shame... I have heard some people going through the trouble of tearing it down and using it in an existing case. Maybe there is hope for it?

The one adapter I have been keeping a close eye on is this one: The Nulaxy Keyboard and Mouse adapter.
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/nulaxy-keyboard-mouse-bluetooth-adapter
I believe that it will be the most compatible with everything.

I tried contacting them about compatibility with something that had a USB hub but never heard anything back.

Anyone end up getting one of these? Would love to hear some feedback? They on special on amazon at the moment for 19.99, thinking of getting one. (http://www.amazon.com/Nulaxy-Bluetooth-Universal-Keyboard-Computers/dp/B00T5YXNL0/)

I searched all the reviews for 'IBM' and 'cherry' and came up with nothing. :(

I have one and while it works fine on a fifteen dollar USB keyboard it does not work with a poker 2 using the nkro firmware. I not tried downgrading to 6kro as I use nkro for plover.

Does it work on your filco?

Cool stuff, thanks for info :D

Bump for this. Also interested in hearing results of the Nulaxy for mechanical keyboards. Am on a Filco Majestouch 2 myself.

Thanks, hopefully I haven't made a mistake getting one. If it works on my HHKB I will be ecstatic :)

Still waiting for a review. :D

Has anyone been able to get the bluetooth adapter from the OP to work with Teensy based boards? None of mine work
-
If anyone tried this on a 60% mechanical keyboard, specifically Vortex Pok3r. Kindly make a post.

My adapter (the one mentioned in the OP) worked with my Sprit 60%. Quite a few people mentioned theirs working with the Poker II as well. Not sure about the Pok3r.
I have NOT been able to get it to work with anything Teensy based though.
-
Good news guys, I figured out how to use the function layer of 60% boards on Nulaxys. I've updated my guide that I linked in the last post. I'd love to hear results of trying it on other boards.
-
Hi enthdegree, how long does your battery pack last with the Nulaxy?
-
FYI, this is back. Only 10 left though! (not counting the purchase I'm about to make) :)
EDIT: it's gone again. And I forgot to buy one D:
-
Can't get the nulaxy to pick up an HHKB at all, even with an external battery pack :( It picks up the Realforce but because it forces the numlock on you can't actually use it. So a bit of a bust for me.
-
Bummer. :( Do you still have it? I'll gladly test it on a few IBM Ms I have. :thumb:
-
I've got a SSK too but same problem as the Realforce, it forces the numlock so it's not usable :( I am sure it would work on full size Model M's. I am a little far away though so you would likely do better sourcing one locally.

Whoops, didn't see your location. Yeah that's a bit far, lol.
That's interesting that it forces the numlock on.
