Title: What's that on Ray Ozzie's desk?
Post by: lexicon on Thu, 07 May 2009, 16:02:32
(Chief Software Architect at Microsoft)

here (http://www.wired.com/images/article/magazine/1612/ff_ozzie2_f.jpg)

From last November's Wired magazine.  It's clearer in the dead-tree version that it's a Unicomp Customizer.  You can even see the fugly logo.

"A clean desk is a sign of the EU investigators scouring my office 5 minutes ago".

I'm not a fan of Microsoft or any of their products, but will say that if they don't do some serious butt kissing along with some payoffs, the EU might do a real number on them.  Perhaps it's deserved, and perhaps not, but MS certainly has enough money to buy their way out of most any trouble that they can get themselves into.

I think the desk looks nice, but the entire setup does appear to be staged just for the photo opportunity.

i deno, old people can be quite meticulous.  an old ms mouse and a customizer are excellent choices.  and his monitor set up is superb.  i would guess this is real.

Yes, I think the components are probably his.  It's the cleanliness and organization of it all that I figure was staged.
