Title: Build log - NCR 3077 Leeku

Some photos of my latest keyboard. It's taken about 6 months to source the parts for this. Totally worth it. These photos are resized. For full size photos please see the album on my flickr account. (https://www.flickr.com/photos/115722906@N08/with/14393787904/) It's not really a full build log, since there wasn't much to do other than mod the switches, solder on diodes and solder on switches, but I tried to take a few shots mid-build.

Huge thank you to Irisveil and REVENGE for helping me get the PCB and case! ;D

Here are the parts :

Nice build, Photekq!

Question: Is there a difference in feel with old style PCB mount cherry stabs? Any design changes other than the screws?

There is a difference between the STOCK old ones and STOCK new ones. Why? Look at the stems of the old ones. They're already pre-clipped.

I can't really feel much of a difference between these and clipped new ones. I use them because they will definitely never pop out :))

What about those on TEK-80.

What about those on TEK-80.
They're the same ones. I ended up not using them since Phantom doesn't support PCB mount switches, and I didn't want to butcher them. TEK-80 is built with ergoclears.

I wish I could get some nixdorf blacks for my end game board. RGB switch seems like a good alternative.

What is the advantage of using this Leeku PCB instead of Cherry PCB?

I hope you can find some :) It's a very nice switch.

Leeku has NKRO, Cherry 3XXX PCBs don't. There are some Cherry 1XXX PCBs that do have NKRO, but they don't fit in 3XXX cases. So, if you want an NKRO 3XXX Leeku is your only choice. I play dota, so it's important for me to have it.

Wasn't aware that Cherry sold TKLs in the 80s/90s.. :))

Just hook it up with a ****ing teensy and you can get NKRO.

Nice build.
You can't just hook up a teensy and get NKRO on a run of the mill 3000 PCB. The PCB have no traces for diodes, only pads that go nowhere for the wire tie downs. So unless you wanted to do a mess of handwire to hook up diodes that is a definite no go. With right firmware you might be able to get increase to 4KRO maybe like some other non diode G80 models... The only 3000 family PCBs that are easy to get that have NKRO are the 349X which are not winkeyless. There are some late 1000 series that do have a 3000 size PCB with NKRO (label will have FCC ID with 3000 part number, but there are also revision PCB that are same as 2KRO 3000 model so it's still no guarantee) though they are not easy to find.
