Does anyone know if there are any stores in NYC that carry different keyboards and might have HHKB's or other topres?
Been meaning to type on one and try it out but don't want to drop a few hundred on one. I understand the resale is fairly high but it's quite a bit of work.
Anyone have any ideas?

AFAIK no stores in NYC carry mechboards, especially Topre.
You can get anything you want in NYC, as long as it's not electronic.

Ahh damn miss the bay area and all of it's crazy specialty electronics stores.

J&R Music and Microcenter do...or should have mech boards. They don't have Topre though. Only storefronts that I think have Topre are MK.com's and EK's storefronts. I think the easiest way to try some Topper out is to make friends with some of the NYC area GHers.

I think B&H may have a mech board to try out. Most electronic stores that carry Razer should have Blackwidows (and blackwidows have a little window to test out the arrow keys).
No Topres as far as I can tell.

Thanks for the input guys. Looks like I'll just have to take the plunge at some point. Or bribe some NYC ghers with coffee in order to try their keyboards out haha :thumb:
