Hey guys, have not been here in a while. Well I am not in a market for a new keyboard. However after owning (sadly in past Razer) , and having issues with 4 different Coolermaster keyboards I refuse to get these brands( but giving the stealth coolermaster a last consideration just in case). I was looking into a Filco Ninja Tenkeyless with browns but I am sure there are other great choices out there before I decide to purchase this one. I rather look all my considerations since I want this keyboard to last me for a while.
Thanks!
(and maybe some nice keycaps recommendations too )

If you would like LED, buy a Ducky.
If not, go with Filco or Ducky. :thumb:
Keyboards are so up to personal preference so it's so hard to say which one you will like the most.
For keycaps I've heard PBT is the best, but I got no experience in other keys then the default provided by Ducky.

Is the price difference between the Filco Ninja over the CM Stealth justified? Like is it worth it?
-
Cant go wrong with a Filco. There's a good reason they are one of the most recommended boards here and many other places. Their build quality is only surpassed by the high-end Korean custom boards ($300+). The only drawback to them is price and the ABS keycaps. If I were going to purchase another keyboard, I can almost guarantee it would be another Filco.
A lot of people seem to like Ducky boards. Personally I've never owned one and, based on their current line up, don't plan to in the near future. I don't like Cherry stabs and most of their boards are too flashy/gaudy for my tastes.
As far as I'm concerned, PBT keys > * ... I can't wait to get my pitch black PBT keys from Ivans group buy

The only two things I regularly hear wrong with Filco is the non-detachable cable, and pinging.
Otherwise you can't really go wrong.
Also KeyCool is reasonably good, cheap like QFR, but of reasonable good quality, and includes PBT keycaps. At least my white KeyCool 87 did a year or so ago.

Thanks for your responses guys!
Also where can I get some PBT keys for a filco ninja that look the same? With the blank text keycaps on the top and such?
Just hard because the CM Stealth has pretty good ratings I do not see if I can justify the huge price difference between them.

filco... i'd say go for it. i love my filco reds.
the build quality is superb and you can't really go wrong with it. as for pinging, have it lubed (the spring) if it happens. if non detachable cable is not a problem, i'd prefer filco over ducky any day. just personal preference here though.

qfs is on sale right now

I haven't had any problems with my CM Storm Quickfire.. and you can get a replacement top cover from CM cheaply to repaint however you like!

I don't know if you can get it in browns but the KUL ES-87 with clears is AWESOME
-
Usual answer: Get a Filco or QFR
-
I think the KUL should be added to the usual answer
I don't think I was this happy with my filco until I put GMK on it.

QFS is pretty much the same as the QFR, but with ninja keycaps. I have one of each, both are great board, and have had a lot of use in the last 12 to 18 months without missing a beat.

KUL is available in Brown, Red and Clear Cherry MX switches. I currently have the Brown KUL and it is fantastic. I highly recommend it if you do not need backlighting.

I can also vouch for the quality of the QFS. Mine has been very good, with the minor exception of one of the rubber feet falling off. Just had to glue it back on, though and it's good as new. From what I've heard on here (although I've never tried one) Filco boards are just really really well made. That's why they command a much higher price. Try looking in the classifieds, and you might find one for a good deal less.

Funny about the rubber feet - I used my QFR at work without any problems.
Then I brought the QFS in, and immediately the rubber feet started leaving black marks on my desk. They also seem to stick slightly to the desk, which the ones on the QFR did not.
Maybe QFR and QFS have different rubber feet?

Thanks a lot for your responses guys I ended up getting a CM Stealth since it was on sale at a local shop and it has pretty good reviews. I think as of now since still in college this is the best I can afford and I like it quite well as of now. Maybe later on I might look into a FILCO if something comes up but of as now and for a while I think I will be okay.
-
My Filco TKL with browns has served me well. I have used it everyday for over two years without a complaint.
I bought a QFR at the same time. I have used it half as much and I have had issues with more than 10 keys so far. The build quality is not even close to the Filco, so don't be fooled into thinking they are equivalent.
That's my two cents...

Nice one - hopefully you won't have the same problems with this CM keyboard! :)
