Eh, I thought they would've done more with the season finally. And the show is starting to get really far from the book, so sometimes things legitimately surprise me :))
This last season was like books 3 + 4 + 5 all mixed togeather with some things switch around and left out

Books aren't in chronological order. Show (kinda) is.

After reading about how far the season 4 finale strayed from the books (mainly Tyrion's primary motivation for killing Tywin) I finally reached the point where I want to read them. I just bought a copy of the first book tonight on eBay and am anxious for it to arrive.  :thumb:

I read first book.  I realized George RR Martin is writing about a fictionalized medieval New Jersey.  The Lannisters are the Rockefellers, and the Tyrell's are the Du Pont's.  George RR Martin is of course Tyrion.  I think he's also put a lot of himself into Arya too.

I don't quite get the Arya arc in the books too, so if someone can explain it I'd appreciate it.

I don't even know who arya is...  no really..... complete blank...

Come to think of it I don't really know any of the character's names except tyrion, the last name lanister, none of the first names, and the snow-guy cuz the internet loves to meme him..

Still... I consider myself a Fan.. (http://emoticoner.com/files/emoticons/onion-head/happy-onion-head-emoticon.gif?1292862507)

I really am a fan though..   Even though I personally do not put in the time to jump into this universe,  I can still recognize from the outside that it's well built and written..

It's like asians and soup... they bring it out late in the meal... and you're already too damn full to drink any of it...  So you just eat some of the goodies, and call it in...

The fan communities are raging about the lack of LS but I'm cool with it after getting over a bit of disappointment.  Season 4 overall was probably the best since the 1st, but not as great as I was hoping for.  I disliked the change in the Jaime/Tyrion scene immediately prior to crossbowing Tywin.  I feel like he didn't have the same sense of rage and detachment flowing through at that moment which in the book provided the immediate motivation for doing what he did.  It plays a lot differently as a result.

tp, no offense but you are the kind of fan that makes the Ice and Fire nerds rage.  The show often feels unnecessarily simplified and dumbed down, presumably so it can be followed by the super casual watchers.

I'm the same as hashbaz. Once I took a step back, I was cool with it. Got to bare in mind, HBO like shoving a load of things into their last episodes. Maybe if some of episode 10 happened in episode 9 then the last 5 or so mins could've been about LS but oh well. Have to wait until next April, boys. Time for me to reread my books. :D

And I was the same with the Jaime and Tyrion scene. I went over it with a friend of how he didn't seem super angry and ended up storming up to Tywin's chambers.

I really don't see the comparison. I can't think of a character that is further away from George's IRL personality. Unless you simply meant they both kill a lot of people :))

She's the little girl that could... Quite interested in her and her brother Bran's story arcs... Looks like dragon lady is having some control issues nowadays and discovering that being a head of state is a right PITA when compared to simply conquering.

I was going to make a comment about another chracter, but realised I may be onto something and it could spoil the ending for some if I'm right. Whatever happened to Gendry?
