Alps plz.
Just got ebay sniped and feel like crying.

Find a Leading Edge DC-2014. I had best luck finding the early and best version of Blue complicated ALPS on those.

I've got a Focus 2001 with White Alps switches, thin double shot caps(dunno what kind of plastic, but my guess is ABS). I pulled it out of a recycling dumpster, cleaned and fixed it up. I haven't used it since I got it working, don't like the switches/layout, but when last used I'm pretty sure everything worked. Solder job on the inside is pretty bad, but it was my first refurb, just wanted letters to appear on screen. Note: the Caps Lock key has a miss-print where instead it reads: "Caps LccK". Control, Alt, Shift and Escape keys have red, blue, green and red lettering respectively. Caps do have some shine(my clue for ABS plastic) so it's been used. No windows keys, big-ass enter, and small right shift. PS/2 connector. I can take pictures if interested.
Just found another one in the same bin, but I'm not completely sure if it's and alps board, but the keys are compatible and are in much better shape. I haven't tested it out yet, but it looks like your cannibalizing so it doesn't matter much. The switch stems are blue in color and I much prefer them to the Focus's White Alps, they're much lighter. Same layout as the other, except for a single unit backspace and a "Turbo" cap under the enter key. I broke apart the F8 switch housing when taking the cap off on accident. I think I have all of the inside pieces except for the spring; might have damaged the top switch housing though too. Double shot keycaps. AT 5 pin DIN connector. I can take pictures and test it if interested.

Bump.
Prices please! I don't like guessing valuation of boards I've never used or seen before :(
-
I hope you know there isn't much in the way of 60% Alps. There are a few on the horizon but they're not here yet.
A Matias 75% may be the easiest to find.

Which auction did you get sniped on? What are you looking for? I can try to remember to PM you if I spot anything come up there.

Suntouch Jr on its way to satisfy my small form Alps modding for now. 60% is something I know I'll have to wait for.

Mainly complicated blue alps, but also any decent Alps board that's cheap. I was looking at some complicated white alps board that was under $15. Last second sniped.

Here's the 2 Alps(maybe one isn't) boards I have: http://imgur.com/a/9xTBR
I don't know if you're interested in a vintage NMB Space Invaders board, but I have one of those too.

In ebay auctions, don’t bother bidding before the last 5 seconds: if you bid early, the only possible outcome is that you pay more (by giving someone you’re bidding against a chance to raise their max bid). Just decide up front exactly what the maximum bid you’re willing to put up is, and then use http://auctionsniper.com.

Mainly complicated blue alps,
How much are you willing to pay? I’d expect the best you’ll get on a blue Alps keyboard is $50-60 shipped for something that’s mis-titled and in the wrong ebay category that no one notices (so be prepared to spend a bunch of time hunting). Otherwise, good condition blue Alps boards seem to be $80+.
Unless you’re in australia: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=58899

I'll have to try the auction sniper.
I understand complicated blue alps will be pricey. Depending on condition, I could go as high as 70 but would obviously prefer 50 range.

Bumping with good intentions and a positive outlook on life.

You might enjoy Matias switches: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=60208
They’re pretty similar feeling to good-condition white Alps, with a slightly crisper tactile feeling, and a bit more wobble (some people dislike this but I’m somewhat indifferent).
You might also enjoy SMK “monterey” blue alps-mount switches. At any given time, there are some Chicony KB-5181s on ebay for $60–80 (though watch out because they have several different batches with different switches).

I really like matias switches but I need those hyped blues for my dream board.

Remain patient. Sometimes a handful of Leading Edge 2014s will turn up in a few months, and sometimes half a year goes by between sightings.
If you set your price point above $75 you will score a lot faster than if you try to stay below that.
