Title: Connector of IBM Model M with old silver logo(1390131)
Post by: darkspider on Fri, 20 June 2014, 09:00:44
Hi, I have a question about structure of 1390131's AT cable connector, which is old model of Ms.
Now, I own am using IBM Model M whose Part Number is 1391401. And this keyboard has removable PS/2 cable(grey colour).
Then, I recently bought IBM Model M P/N 1390131 with old AT cable(black one).
I want to know PS/2 cables of 1401s can be attached to 0131.
If you know, please tell me.

Yes.   But the AT connector can be used with a ps/2 port via a simple passthru connector.

Thank you to answer my question!
You seems to be a professor of IBM's keyboards :)

Yeah, any 6 Pin SDL cable (which is the removable connector that you are referring to) will work.  They only made SDL cabled model M's for PS/2 versions at least for the 101 key versions.

If you don't want the AT one I'll take it. It's black which goes better with my painted black case.
