Certainly doesn't dance around the "Topre" name like Carter.

I'm surprised someone doing "tech reviews" is unaware of the benefits of micro-usb  :))

I always try to watch his reviews when people post them, but I can never make it all the way through.

Still confused. Some say "Toper" some say "Toprey".

The head of the keyboard Illuminati already explained this.
Topre is short for Tokyo Press.

Toe-Prey ...

Topper like copper boys!

Every time I say it properly I just go into Japanese businessman accent and feel silly.

That's what I'm going with. Also how Brian pronounced it. Figure he may know since he does business with them.

Indeed.  It ends up being shortened to "To-pu-re."The syllables alone would sound like "Toe-poo-ray."  U sounds tend to be shortened, so it sounds more like Toe-pray.

LINUS

I AM EXTREMELY PUT OFF BY YOUR MISPRONUNCIATION OF TOPRE

TOE-PRAY

HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY IT

anyway I don't even want a novatouch but the rest of the video was reasonable

looks like an 8/10 keyboard

Why all the hate for micro USB?? Micro USB is designed so that the part most likely to fail is the cable unlinke mini USB where the motherboard connector is the part that most often fails. I don't know about you but I would much rather have the cable be the weak point than the lone interface connection on the keyboard. Here  (http://electronics.stackexchange.com/a/18559) is a stack exchange comment that elaborates a lot further about mini vs micro USB.

As long as the stabs are compatible with other Topre boards, I'll be getting one to swap with my HHKB sliders. Miami HHKB all day ;)

I have a feeling it's meant to catch out those less informed

I'll have to consult the other members of the Illuminati

It's probably Toe-pray, but toe-purr is so much easier to say lol

And I actually like Linus (maybe it's cause we're in the same province); don't kill me ):

No novatouch for me though, it's all HHKB from here :p

It may be designed that way but I have rarely seen the cable fail, I work with hundreds of micro usb devices and its almost always the socket its self and the worst part is with what I work with, they are custom built ones so we need to order 10,000 batches :/ just my personal opinion that it's a terrible interface choice :x

Thats good to hear, I may be getting a HHKB after all...

The only reason I would get the Novatouch would be to harvest the sliders, and that's only if I had loads of cash.

I really hope that's not the case, Linus has gone a bit too commercial for my taste lately - It's starting to feel like he's not speaking his honest opinion anymore.

Marketingwise I think it is a mistake to rouse appetite for a product before the product is available. People forget soon, what is not available at the moment. I would have bought it, but after alle the fuss and delay, I don’t care anymore.

He was more impressed about the Topre keys that he thought he would be - now that he had tired it in the comfort of his own home.

He liked the mx compatible sliders.

However he still prefers MX over Topre, but he's not sure whether it's because he's just used to MX.

He also stated that he thought Topre would be a good way to go if you went from regular membrane keyboards to mechanical keyboards.

Overall - mildly positive perhaps an 7/10 review.

It looks like he may of posted that one too early :x if he has wouldn't that mean he may get a big slap on the wrist?

Overall it was looking good but again like most have said I would only want it for it's body (Sliders that is) otherwise its just a black QFR with micro USB to me currently until we get a little more in depth reviews

it might be spelled "Topre", but it is pronounced in two words, like C-U-P R-U-B-B-E-R.

It's now down, though. I commented on and asked whether anyone saw a price before the page went down.
