Title: Ducky PBT problem
Post by: ndakota79 on Sun, 22 June 2014, 12:28:11
Hello Guys,

I just ordered a ducky thick pbt set cream & cheese color with nordic legends from teraset (https://www.teraset.net/ducky.php) and sadly I'm a bit  disappointed.

While the Keys really are beautiful and feel nice, their cut is fringy on some keys. The Spacebar is also a bit warping, but thats not a big deal to me.

Especially the fringy Spacebar disturbs me, because one can see that fringyness even without looking very closely. I detachted a photo for you can see what I mean.
Is that normal and how can i fix it? Is it possible to enhance the cut quality with a sharp knife or something?

Most caps have those. If they really bother you, just take some sandpaper and sand them down

It happens, just get a knife or razor and trim it.

Warping on a PBT space bar is not unusual.  You can try the hot water method to straighten it out.

I find that nail emery boards work well for removing those edges (molding flash) from keycaps. Some emery boards have even have a variety of grits available.
