It's ironic because Leopold which is like much cheaper somehow decides to have amazing rubber feet. Like they even have 2 sets of rubber feet at the front with different angle in case you want to tilt the leg up.
This almost feel like the HHKB/RealForce/Type Heaven hit their "rubber" quota and can't have anymore rubber. It's also especially bad for HHKB and Type Heaven because the back legs don't have any rubber at all.
Though I place my keyboard on a towel so this isn't exactly an issue for me. :P

I haven't noticed is as much of an issue.
I did like the HHKB's lightness and ease of micro-placement on the desk.
Lately I tend to have it sitting on a folded sheet of drawer liner, so it doesn't really move at all.

I haven't had any issues w/ the HHKB being like that...I know it isn't gripping my desk like some of my other boards...but it doesn't seem to matter....
Granted, I don't game on my HHKB so maybe some thrashing/spamming of the keyboard would make it more noticeable...

lol I guess it's not that big of a deal, I guess I'm only complaining considering the price point, that and it seem like such an easy to fix issue and I don't know why they won't do it.
:P

The HHKB and Realforce's aren't made by Leopold, but I do agree, it's a little annoying. I did a cheap mod on my HHKB to resolve the sliding issue (spent $.60 for some rubber feet and called it good) and since then, I haven't had an issue, but I agree. At the price point, it's aggravating.

I only had gripe with the HHKB feet on my glass desk, most other surfaces were pretty moot. A Fohat mat fixed that problem though.

What are people's recommendations for DIY or 3rd party feet?

I just went to my local hardware store and picked a couple up. Just about anything labeled as anti-slip will work.

Should market them as Fomats ;)

The feet may be small but the rubber is very grippy. Never had any trouble with keyboard sliding around.
