Title: [WTB] Seattle housing for night of August 27th
Post by: Sifo on Wed, 09 July 2014, 20:35:54
I'm going to PAX that weekend and I get in on Wednesday morning. However my friend who's providing me the housing for the event won't be in until Thursday so I'm kinda homeless for my first night there. If anyone who lives in the Seattle area (preferably close to the convention centre) could let me crash, I'll buy us pizza and love you long time. Still a month and a half away but wouldn't wanna try doing this last minute :P

Have you checked out couch surfing at all?  I have some friends up there who have couch surfers sometimes.

If you are still looking I may be able to put you up if you wanna commute from Redmond.

Unless I land a job in another state, which is totally feasible. Then obviously I can't :P

I hadn't thought of this, but this is a good idea.  I have zero experience in that area of the country, but where I live couch surfing works pretty well, so I'd assume it's gotta be similar out there.  Can be sketchy at first, but it's usually pretty good.

There are sites dedicated to it where you give and get reviews so you can avoid the sketchy ones.

Yep!  That's what I was referring to.  I just meant that no matter how many reviews you read in favour of an individual, it can still be daunting or otherwise sketchy to sleep on their couch, at least the first time you do it.   ;)

If lived in Seattle, I'd provide my bed for free, but not free, if you know what I mean ;) :) ;)

But seriously... imagine watching Eva 1.11-3.33 blu ray together...

[WTB] Tickets to Gainesville, FL

I WISH!!!  Gainesville ain't really a place to buy a ticket for though :)) :)) Nothing here but the UF.

Too bad half of my house is empty, including the living room, which no longer houses a large TV and sofas :'( The living room is literally empty... I used to have get togethers/parties at my house every Saturday night, but ever since my bro moved out, and putting the condominium out on the market, it's no longer party-able :'( :'( :'(

It would be pretty amazing if we could have real get-togethers and do movie nights + alcohol...

BUT BACK ON TOPIC. SOMEONE HOUSE SIFO!!!

I mean in worst case scenario I book a cheap motel for myself for that one night.

It's pretty much what he's been trying to avoid if possible... because during the Pax Prime convention, hotels within any reasonable travel distance to the convention center are not going to be cheap. Pretty much every place gets booked solid and prices are higher than usual.

DOH. Don't know why I didn't even think of that.
I just stopped working at a hotel too.
Price gouging bastards.
I'd offer you my couch but it's on an island about 5 hours away from Seattle.  ^-^

Yo, I'll be moving to the area (probably Lynnwood though) in the next few weeks, so this may be possible. Although I'm going to be hella jealous since I haven't bought any tickets yet. I still might, but they're 4x the price. I am down like Shinji's self esteem to marathon Evangelion though. >.>

If it's within cab distance I'm down :p

also I have Friday, Sunday and Monday tickets if you'd like them at cost (I've made arrangements for a full set since I'm missing Saturday). That way you only need to pay flip price for 1 day and we can go together.

I lived in Seattle for 4 years, its a pretty awesome area. Basically MN 2.0. If you'd be comfortable couch surfing in MN, you'd be fine in Seattle/WA.
