A few IBM variants are much more expensive. Look it up bro.

I'm pretty sure that gold plated HHKB special edition tops it (over $5,000 IIRC)

A case from FMJ or Hammer alone could cost more than that. :p

I knew some keyboards were expensive but damn...

Welcome to GeekHack. It would be safer to give your credit card to some stranger than to stay on these forums.
But hey! Strangers won't give you sexy looking keyboards! ;)

Industrial SSK usually go for $1000 to $1250.

Reminding me again how much I want a Hammer case for my Pure :-X

I wonder what the most expensive keyboard would be that we could build (excluding keycaps, because that can get out of hand)
Premium FMJ case with weights
Titanium finished backplate
nixdorf housings with pale yellow stems
Duck Mini PCB
That's my guess for what would cost the most.

Webwit (from Deskthority) has a prototype Cherry G80-5000 (the “V80-5000”) with serial number 1. He said he paid $1000 for it, but I’m sure there are folks who would be willing to pay quite a bit more.

This (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=40658.msg1269063#msg1269063) would probably come close.
Add aluminium case for extra value.

I think some of those special hhkb's were like $5k or something like that.

Need all-titanium case, plate, keycaps. Mmmm, I want.

Don't the IBM M15s go for a pretty penny?
-
Has anyone mentioned the 4704 yet? Not sure if there was ever a price attached to it though, but certainly an extremely rare and desirable IBM board.

356CL. $4000~ (four thousand)

no, no, no, no, no.
This is the one I'm thinking of:

From WikiPedia:
An anniversary edition now discontinued has the distinction of, at the time, being the most expensive keyboard available. Costing about US$5000 with Japanese VAT, the anniversary edition was hand lacquered with 10 coats of Urushi, a traditional toxic tree sap lacquer, and given a sprinkling of gold dust.

I paid like $110 for the 4704/6019284 from Tinnie. If I proxied a board in NA for someone, the price goes up to like $130. Not *that* pricey.
Most I've paid for a board is ~$400. My Kingsaver and KMAC clock in around that price. Most money I've seen dropped on a board is about $1000 on an industrial SSK.
