I found this on eBay when I was deciding
whether or not I should wait for the Filco blue cherries
from elitekeyboards or I should just get a DAS keyboard 3 Ultimate.
Then I found this on eBay.

That looks awfully similar to a Model M.

That's a DAS I, before they went mechanical (das ii)

damn when did they begin their business and went from membrane to cherries.

I remember reading the history of it, and it was a relatively small thing. The guy made a blank board and it greatly improved his touch typing skills. He got a lot of interest from his friends, so he started mass manufacturing them. I'm sure after the success of the first, he had enough money to rebranded the Chery G80-3000 for his second (das II). Then had Costar mass manufacture the third (das Ultimate). All of them came with no legends, and the third was the first time you were able to the buy the keyboard with inscriptions on the keys

The Real Das is the one that works perfectly. Won't happen until Das 4.
hahaha what's wrong with the DAS 3 Ultimate? I was thinking of getting that since it has blank keytops.

There's one of these at my workplace. I tried typing on it and it was nothing special at all.

really? what board do you type on normally?

The only notable keyboard I have is a cherry g80-3000, which is apparently the same board as the Das II, the Das guys just rebranded it.
I saw on reddit that the Das I is just a rebranded version of this board:

Sorta getting back to the issue at hand. I would wait - we're talking maybe 3 weeks if Majestouch hits his mid-June estimate.
Meanwhile you can slog through the motherofallthreads here. (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?t=4691) 13,808 views so a lot of lurkers keep checking it too.
The NKey rollover stuff starts getting real boring but after this post (http://geekhack.org/showpost.php?p=90923&postcount=175) it gets interesting.
what is the price difference between the Filco blue tenkeyless and DAS, which one is more expensive?

I don't think that blue tenkeyless will cost you more than Das III. Afterall it's same keyboard as other tenkeyless Filcos with different but similarly priced switches.
I guess we will know the exact price pretty soon!

are you sure? quoting from http://web.archive.org/web/20050519233344/http://www.daskeyboard.com/
Individually Weighted Keyswitches
Most keyboards use a standard 55 grams of force required to register every key, Das Keyboard has 5 different levels of force. The keys are divided into groups and their feedback springs are weighted differently; from 35 grams to 80 grams, which correspond to the strength of the finger that touches the keys. The result is more comfort for your hands.
it looks mechanical to me?

I had heard before that it was just a glorified rubber dome, even though it still caught on with the blank keys
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Das_Keyboard
The original Das Keyboard, which was made in the Czech Republic, has received criticism from some who feel that it is essentially just an expensive version of a standard quality dome-switch ("membrane") keyboard. The 'spongy' feel of the keys has also been unfavorably compared with keyboards using mechanical key switches; in addition, some feel the advantage of the weighted keys has been overstated.
It does say citation needed

Look up Keytronic E03600U1 (http://www.keytronic.com/home/keyboards/keyboards/keyboards.html) (or U2), that might well be it. The shape is a pretty good Model M copy btw.

are you sure? ... it looks mechanical to me
I still have mine in a closet. It had multiweighted keys but it was nothing more than a rubber dome keyboard.
