Title: Keyboard roof?

Hey everyone,

I am just wondering if any of you (besides those that got theirs with their Realforce from the Korean eBay seller) ever found a place in Europe or the US to order a keyboard roof?

I've been looking for a decent roof since ever I started buying expensive keyboards!

So far I've been using the thin but tight plastic thing that came with my Filco Majestouch, which works great but looks way less cool than those Japanese/Korean keyboard roofs.

So far I've found a couple of different models. ShopU carries a wide variety of different roofs, even some that fit the HHKB:

PFU also carries a roof exclusively for the HHKB:

There also seem to be some more universal versions that cover the whole board and possibly even the mouse. I have not found a retailer for those, but since I dislike this one the most I have no interest in it either way:

So back to the original question, anyone knows where to get those outside of Japan or Korea? Would anyone else be interested in one? Maybe we can arrange something like a group order.

I'm going to be making one for Laurie as soon as I get back to NY next week. If it works out OK I'll be able to make a lot more :)

You could also petition Majestouch - just send him a PM.   He'll give you one of those "under consideration thanks for your input" type of answers but if enough do I'm sure he can find them.  Of course sending to Germany then becomes the problem.   Other guy you could PM is stlensbar, a Ebay seller who I know shipped some Topres to Europe.

Haha - Actually it is (a part of) the logo of my freelancing agency - sixtysixmhz.

The name goes back as a homage to my very first PC which happened to be a 486 DXII at 66mhz! Quite geeky, yeah!

Nah, I'm doing it out of acrylic - with a table saw, sandpaper, polish, and cement.

The one thing I can't seem to find find are little felt strips to use as feet, so it doesn't scratch the board.

EliteKeyboards will be able to carry the "bird electron" acrylic roof for Realforce and Filco Tenkeyless and the PFU HHKB roof in the near term (next week).

How much interest is there in these?

Edit: If I order enough of the tenkeyless roof I can get a custom logo...but what to put?

I'd buy some for the tenkeyless Filco and HHKB Pro.
