Title: My Wang!
Post by: QWERTim on Sat, 12 July 2014, 06:14:03
Hey guys

Picked up my first every keyboard that is older than me, thought it would be a nice little project to get it cleaned up and presentable, which as you can see from the pictures, will take a bit of work!

No idea what the last bit is, I found that loose inside!

"You no mess with Lo Wang." "Who wants some Wang?" "Having fun little Rabbit? Ha ha!" :)

Good luck with getting it all cleaned and back together!

Goodbye desk space - parting is such sweet sorrow ;)

ps. Typed on my Model M, which looks to be only about 75% the size of that behemoth!

Looks like a very old wang. It looks a bit weird to me...
I just hope it still works as intended!  :))

Your Wang looks like it's built like a tank. Doesn't even need protection--IT IS the protection he he :thumb:

Nice pickup. Be proud of your Wang and hang it from the wall for everyone to see.

My F-122 is 22" x 8" x 2" and weighs 8-1/4 pounds.

How does this compare with mine?

Fog the details of your package are indeed respectable but I think that 10x(??) Space does all the talking here.

Now let's not turn this into a pissing contest

According to a Key Tronic ad, the linear version of the foam and foil switch was introduced by popular demand in 1981 (the OP's keyboard is from 1983). (And from what I understand, it's a nice switch when it's in good condition.)

I'm curious how far back the tactile version goes.

Funny how the 10x spacebar does not have any stabs! You cannot press it at either end!

Still struggling to find away to get this connected up to my PC without the need for a $500 adapter!

This keyboard hails from the era where real men didn't need stabilisers!

But all in all that's one nice looking Wang!
