Title: Triad Keyboard
Post by: MattInTheHat on Thu, 17 July 2014, 16:08:06
Probably about time to make a thread about these, so the info is not lost forever.

This is a terminal keyboard for a Triad auto parts inventory system. I acquired a few of them while scrapping the system. At first, I thought a few were NIB and a little dusty, but in better light with more time, I see that they were just put into the boxed the keyboards for the new system came in.

What I have learned so far is that they appear to be Branded by WYSE, Wyse clones, or something similar. Some people say they might use Wyse protocols, but no one so far is sure.

They use Vintage Cherry Blacks (cherry mx black), have an unusual/rare color scheme, and a wierd layout.

*update*
I was looking at the boards from the system these went to, and some of the boards saw Wyse on them.

Thanks for the background information. I was looking at one of these being sold new on eBay recently and couldn't find much info. about this board.

Wow, excellent!

I got one that is sadly a rubber dome. I can confirm, however that the internal chip is WYSE branded.

Keycaps also appear to be Comptec (now SP)

There was also a cherry-made one with a beige colourway
