Title: Forum rules?
Post by: cribbit on Sat, 19 July 2014, 03:12:14
I'm super bad at searching, I can't find forum rules anywhere. Specifically, sig and avatar size limitations. Anyone have info on that? Sorry if this is the wrong section, I figured it would be least likely to be wrong here.

Can't find anything short term - avatar pictures are 120x120, or maybe 150x150 - this was hotly debated a while ago.

Try 150x150 - if that's too big then it's probably 120x120 :)

For avatar it will scale it down to whatever it is within reason. Most of the images I use are like 600x600 originally.
For signature, it's 777x70 and please DO NOT use anything animated.

Mine is 130x130

I'm actually wondering about this.
What if it's a small animation, the 5 cars in Initial D, and then the respective owners waving or sitting there?

It's in the TOS link the JDCarpe posted above, but here is the relevant signature / avatar content quoted for the lazy:

note the section on "excessive animation"

You also have the option in the forum software to turn it off. We generally allow non-obnoxious gifs (eg NOT msw's sig)

The signature in question has since been removed. Just imagine about 10 gifs of IE/ Win advertisements circa the 90s.

That notes the signature size, not the avatar size.

I disabled signatures mainly because of that.

The main rule that people break or are not aware of around here is that you need to PM a picture of your genitals to the mods before you are allowed to participate in the hidden sales.

Is this new? As I know several who have/had animated sigs. One had like 5 tumblr gifs, heh.

Glad I turn them off in the settings, reminds me when I'm logged out  ;)

So that's why I have been missing out on all these sales!

I miss the llamas.

That said, I like your new sig much better. It's more on-point.

You should add a presidential seal. NON-ANIMATED, of course.
