Title: Poker II failure
Post by: rampantmonkey on Sat, 19 July 2014, 11:41:16
My Poker II has stopped working. When I connect it to any computer the backlight runs at full brightness but the computer does not recognize the keyboard. I have tried the firmware updater but that also does not recognize the keyboard. Vortex's Facebook 'support' has been less than helpful.

Any suggestions?

restart the computer, reconnect cable, use a another cable, use the poker with a another computer, use the poker with another cable on another computer.

done these yet?

Tried another cable, computer, and restarting. Installing updates now just in case.

Updates didn't help either.

Have you tried the factory reset yet? The combination is somewhere in your manual.

My MacBook Pro has had some issues so I am going to attribute it to the power distribution within my laptop. I had used the keyboard without issue connected to that computer for 6 weeks. Then this happened in the middle of watching a movie.

I purchased it new from Mechanical Keyboards via Newegg. MK said that after 30 days there was nothing they could do and I had to contact Vortex.

Does anyone know where to get a replacement PCB? I have no problem removing the switches and leds and moving them to the new board.

I think someone is currently selling 60% PCBs in the classifieds. I think those are compatible with Poker cases.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll do some research for the best option. Hopefully the rubber membrane backup keyboard doesn't destroy my fingers in the meantime.
