Coin-op Adjutant, reporting for duty. Or just to say "hi."
Not new to the world of mechs--I lurk in here and on deskthority, but up until now I've never posted--but given recent acquisitions, I'll probably be on here a lot more.
Computer gaming fan (mostly FPSs) and I've got a pretty dang good rig to boot. I have only recently begun to dabble in the world of peripherals, but we'll see where this takes me. Huge fan of MX Blues and anything clicky, and for what it's worth, my mouse collection is on the rise as well.
Looking forward to good things in the future.

Hello!
I just wanted to ask, what are you doing with the Model F XT? I would be very interested to hear about your project!

Welcome. =)

Glad you asked; I actually tried making a new post in the projects thread, but apparently it ate my post or something, because I don't think it's showing.
Anyway, so far I've got the keycaps clean (rubbing alcohol scrubdown followed by an Oxi-Clean bath), but I need to know the thing works first, so I'm looking to build a Soarer converter via Teensy. I've got mostly everything I need, but since I'm an absolute n00b at soldering, I still don't know anything about what to use for wires from the DIN-5 connector to the Teensy, etc. So my first priority is getting that arranged and working.
Once I can actually determine that it works, I'm looking at going into the metal sheets/foam/etc. and taking everything apart to see what needs fixing. For starters, I know that I need to sand the rust off the top metal sheet and I'll probably give it a painting once that's done. Haven't really thought father ahead--baby steps, and all that.
But yeah, I'm stoked. First buckling spring and I'm hoping to make it a project I can be proud of. One thing at a time, I guess.

Sounds like a fun project. I would love to see pictures once you have it all up and running!
