Another IBM Model F PC AT on ebay, it's currently at $36.00

What's the going rate on these? Been wanting one for a while and I think I'm going to go for it.
-
I paid $200 for mine at the height of the bubble. They typically go for around $125 now.

I paid around $150 for mine shipped, hopefully you can get it for less than Jdcarpe and I paid for it.

At the height of the bubble (~January-February of this year?) weren't they twice that?
Edit: Oops, sorry, I was thinking about the SSK.
But I paid $150 for an F AT in a previous bubble in the summer about 2-3 years ago!

I don't recall seeing an AT F going in the $400 range, but that may be because I stopped really searching for them after I bought mine. I always felt I paid too much for it, even though it is a really nice specimen. I guess I shouldn't feel too bad, though. Buying vintage IBM can be a crap shoot. Sometimes you find that diamond in the rough, and sometimes you simply get a polished turd. :)

Double edged sword? Death to a good deal is what this subforum is. Once in a while your search parameters will hit on something that goes unposted here, and you can get a good buy. If it winds up here, forget about it.

Pretty much; the only good deals here are BIN's
*can't believe I missed out on that ~$50? F AT to that one dude reselling artisans for $200+ by minutes....

Last time there was a BIN or bid on an F AT for like $80 shipped and I was going to buy it, somebody bid on it and ended the BIN. It ended up going for like $120 or $150 I think...
So yes, this whole subforum is kinda a joke in a sense. Ideally it should be used to post good deals from retailers, not eBay listings.

That was actually a great find since it was only BIN. Wasn't the one I was thinking of though, it was posted several months prior to that one...
-
Yeah, the one that recently sold BIN for $55 went to the person least deserving of getting a great deal on one. The seller obviously didn't know what they had.

And he was immediately bragging about it in that thread.

Sorry about that Vanilla. You guys do have a point, so I'll stop linking ebay auctions in here. I'll only link from retailers or BIN sales.

Haha it's okay. Give and get.
From a seller's point of view this is a godsend.

The chicony with monterey blues that I got was on ebay and posted here. It was NIB and I was the only bidder for some reason that time, got it for $30 shipped. This was a few years ago though.
