Title: Windows themes.
Post by: Fragil1ty on Mon, 21 July 2014, 14:42:43
So I'm not sure if you're like me, but I like to have a nice looking Windows. I have to look at it everyday, so why not right? But I also like to maintain a degree of minimalism, hence why the current theme I'm using on Windows 8 is the default one, I've just made it perfect in terms of colour and what not.

On Windows 7 I used to use the Windows 7 - Basic theme, I used this theme religiously! But on Windows 8, it's not here but .. it secretly is. As shown in the screenshot below. Does anyone know if there is a way to uncover this theme as it currently is still in the O/S it's just not accessible through Personalization options.

So yeah, does anyone have any more information on this? I'd highly appreciate it, if so.

First hit on Google for "Windows 8 basic theme". This sounds like what  you need.

I use aero lite on 8.x as I too like the opaque taskbar much better. I've never seen that old ****ty vista style though so I'm not sure what's going on there.

Sounds like Hush (http://neiio.deviantart.com/art/Hush-8-1-452962054) might be right up your alley.

Not the theme I'm looking for, I'm looking for the one that is located in Windows 7, thank you for your kind search though, it's much obliged.

I have in-fact started to use it myself, the opaque has never been an issue for me due to the fact that I use 'startisback' and that can disable a lot of the crappy features that Windows 8 uses, but oh well.
