Don't think of it as $40 plus $20 shipping, think of it as an XT F for $60 shipped. Which is about as cheap as you're ever going to find one.

The seller has three of then for sale, all at the same price. And some great vintage computing stuff, as well!

In the description:

"Winner pays as close to actual shipping cost as I can estimate.

I will refund any excess if >$1.00"

Not bad.

Wow I thought these were way expensive. Aren't these supposed to be the "god" switch. Too bad I'm broke.

The "AT" and "122" models are the more sought out ones. The XT because of their layout are less in demand.

Yup, this is true, but the XT feels a lot better than the AT to type on, and you can always mod it or use a third party program like "key tweak" to mitigate the oddness of the layout.

Yes, fantastic switch. The deal breaker for many people is the layout.

XT's are barely worth $30 shipped IMO. This board is pretty much only worth parts to fix the other model Fs :p

rebuttal:

#1 xtant
#2 you must not be paying attention. XT prices ahve risen steadily of late. Even "model C" keyboards (the last bastion of cheap Fs) are starting to get pricey.

When I got my XT (the day after wcass announced the beginning of the xtant project) it was something like $30 for one with box. Now you are hard pressed to find one for less than $40

God, I CANNOT WAIT for the Xtant.  It's the keyboard that I'm most looking forward to obtaining.

This, I'm negotiating to buy one XT (if everything goes well it's going to be cheaper than that one on ebay) just because I want to get one before prices start to rise drastically. Xtant may or may not happen but it's going to be nice collector piece even if I don't have any use for it.

Just be aware that these use XT protocol, and therefore you cannot just plug this into a modern PC and play. You will need a converter such as Soarer's or similar, before it will work with your PC.

and even if you do get it working with a converter good luck using that layout :p

/me goes to learn about this fabled xtant

edit: okay, this XTant thing is pretty sweet...

Not bad.

I bought an XT keyboard from this seller prior to these listings, and I can confirm this isn't lip service.  I was refunded about $3.

And the keyboard was packaged very well, bubble wrapped in a box similar to the usps game box.

I tried the trackpoint on one of the M13's with Windows 7 and I'm wondering if I need drivers? The keyboard works, but neither the trackpoint or its buttons respond. What am I missing? I'm using a Bluecube adapter. Do I need to use additional cables or something?

EDIT: This is the 2nd(!) time I've misposted something intended for the other thread! Sheesh!!

I think you're looking for the Black M13 thread, so I replied there...
