Title: [Ebay UK] Dell 227KN (AT101W?) US layout
Post by: IBI on Sun, 31 May 2009, 09:48:17
Linky (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dell-227KN-104-KEY-KEYBOARD_W0QQitemZ250434987073QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Computing_ComputerComponents_KeyboardsMice?hash=item3a4f16a441&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A10%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50).

I'm not sure if this is an AT101W or not, a quick search suggests it may be, but also suggests it could be a quietkey version. Can anyone say for sure?

The back of my AT101W (which I did a switch swap with a worn out AT102W) says DP/N 0227KN. Also, all the quietkeys said "Quiet Key" on the front, and were smaller than the ATs. You could always ask the seller to check if it is says AT101W on the back, but I'd be 99% sure that that is the real deal.

There's always the possibility that it could be a rubber dome AT, I think they were called the AT101R or something like that.

That looks very much like a at101w. Now I really want to get my hands on another one.

I asked the guy to take another picture to show the back of the keyboard. Once he sends me the picture or posts it online, I'll come back.

Do you still have the AT102W? I'd be interested to know it's part number. The back of my (black) AT102W says DP/N 010PXP.

@watduzhkstand4: Go for it, it's a new seller but he's got enough odd bits up for sale that he seems unlikely to be dodgy. It's probably not the cheapest you'll find but it does look nice and clean (as far as you can tell through the haze of jpeg artifacts) and seems like a good buy if you don't mind the US layout.

The 102W was a "2425C". I think it was an older model, as it had a coiled PS/2 cable, whereas the 101W I had had a straight one. It also had a different style of label which didnt have DP/N in front of the model number.

According to my notes 0227KN is the part number of the standard beige Dell AT101W. The auction says:
Condition: New

They have 7 of these remaining.

I bought one and picked it up this morning. I can confirm that it is an AT-101W with black Alps switches and that it is brand new. Mine is a rev A01 board and has a colour-coded PS/2 plug.
