Creating arbitrary metaphors for switch types is all the rage right now. Being a trendy guy I needed to get in on this hot and exciting fad before I'm SOL and playing with Cabbage Patch by the time Power Rangers are in style if you know what I mean.Show Image(http://www.bytecellar.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/keyswitches.jpg)

This is very on topic with keyboards. I expect serious discussion to take place.
Why Justice League Jumpy House?
Oh wtf...I love wedging myself into kiddie rides but I belong on that rollercoaster! My heart is torn!
What's buckling spring?
Please, I look more like this:Show Image(http://37.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ma5q77EanK1rekrtmo1_500.gif)

Must I do all of your thinking for you? This should be obvious.Show Image(http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/81TnMUxt9hL._SL1500_.jpg)
Cherry is ALPS with a metal part missing.
Topre is ALPS with a metal part replaced by a (cheap) rubber part.
Yes, I'm biased but what I wrote is still true.
If Alps are a jittery, clackety wooden coaster, then lubed MX linear switches are definitely a modern steel roller coaster: fast, smooth, and thrilling to type on.Show Image(http://www.coastergallery.com/2000/phantom6.jpg)

... that make me feel like I'm about to die.
Prediction: Users begin to make "What Switch Are You" personality quizzes. The horror!
I dunno, I don’t think this is an accurate description of MX switches. In amusement park terms, I feel like they’re closer to a carousel. You won’t hurt yourself, you’ll just go up and down and up and down. Lots of blinking lights and cute animals for the toddlers. Ride any animal you want (lion, horse, dolphin, etc.) there are lots of choices, but they all feel pretty much the same. They have an old design that hasn’t changed since forever ago despite copious evidence that it’s mediocre for thrills. When people grow up, they grow out of them, and the only lingering attraction is nostalgia for an innocent childhood. You'll hear no argument from me, on your joint assessment of the questionable merits of Cherry.... that make me feel like I'm about to die.lubed MX linear switches are definitely a modern steel roller coaster: fast, smooth, and thrilling to type on.... and also vomit inducing. ;)

Yet the junkies keep coming back for their fix and proclaim it to be the best ride of all.
(I guess that’s what Binge was going for with the original “Kiddie Ride” metaphor, but I think a carousel hits a bit closer to the mark.)
Hahahahaha, yes exactly! The nightmare is real.Prediction: Users begin to make "What Switch Are You" personality quizzes. The horror!
You are Alps switches !
You often resist at first when pressured into things, but after an initial push you tend to go with the flow. Not too many people really take the time to get to know you. Most people have their opinion ready and will not even give you a fair chance at befriending them. But the few that do appreciate you will often stay and become friends for life. Where others dress fancy in all kinds of styles and flashy colors, you always dress understated. If you do switch styles, you prefer something retro.
Ok, sorry, I will stop now.

Hall effect doesn't need a metaphor because it's a real mans' keyboard.
