I'm tired of hitting home runs with my Realforce
I need to go back to my roots.
That and baseball is really boring and full of steroids.
Also incredibly racist too, but perhaps not as much as Football.
Oh right where was I?
I've been out of the keyboard game for too long.
Recommend me a TKL or 60%. Cherry MX reds.
Detachable USB keyboard optional (although probably preferred)
Will be used mostly for gaming. Maybe a little bit of travel?
PBTs stock keycaps would be preferred because I really don't want to spend half another keyboard's money buying caps. Although I might end up buying a set of blanks anyways in the near future.
Preferably something that has been released in 2014.
No filthy Kailh switch please.
KUL ES-87?
LEOPOLD 750 - the one that'll never ever leave Korean shores.
Filco? Naw, I've owned too many.
Vortex POKER II?
Ducky? - is ducky still sucky ducky and why don't they have a Premier TKL with cream cheese or blue whatever it's called.
Should I be gaudy and get a deck? How is the build quality of those boards anyways?
Noppoo Choc Mini 2M Wireless Keyboard (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/noppoo-choc-wireless (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/noppoo-choc-wireless)) <- This actually looks interesting. Pom keycaps. Can be wired and wireless. I've heard Noppoo's build quality is just okay (not extraordinary but also not subpar)

Haven't tried one but I've heard very good things about the KUL.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate is awesome for gaming!

Lololol :))

I think the fc660m or a poker 2 with pbt caps would probably be 'best' for a portable keyboard that comes with pbt caps

Oh right. I forgot about that.
Ugh that kind of ruins it
Leopold also has that too right? Except for the 750.
Do you guys know how the Noppoo build quality is?

I have mine for two years, still can't find a god dam space bar for that key board. besides that pbt keycaps on this board feels nice.
-
mine is 2012 ver, I can't say anything about the new one, but I think they are about the same.
-
Oh right is there any wireless lag?
Just wondering, I won't be using it wireless when I game anyways.

Yup, those are my favourite 3 keyboards with Cherry MX Browns..... :p
...
Have you considered trying Clears? Better tactility than Browns and better for gaming, IMHO.
Anyway, FC600M or unbacklit Poker II would be my votes. Both come with thick PBT caps and are "compatible" with other keycap sets. The Leopold needs an extra left shift (both shifts are left shift size), but otherwise all standard size caps. Poker II is completely standard ANSI and programmable.
For TKL size, I have been hearing good things about the KUL ES-87. Also standard ANSI layout, so great for replacing caps. Comes with thin ABS caps, though.
Actually all 3 are available with Clear switches, too. Massdrop should do a new run of Poker IIs with Clears soon, FC660M with Clears can be bought from Qtan and the KUL is available from Mechanical Keyboards or Elite Keyboards with Clears.

Good suggestions.
Keep the stuff coming!
Thanks Oobly for that useful breakdown and keycap sizes info!
I was thinking about the MX Clear KUL but I prefer lighter linear switches for FPS games especially for CS:GO where sometimes half the match is just you strafe guarding a corner hoping somebody peeks you.
I find tactile switches a just tad bit too slow say when you need to strafe back and forth by hitting a, d, a, d consecutively but in rapid succession.
You know like they say cloud of nipples just feels better for that (at least to me). Also double tapping a little bit harder with tactile switches.
Another thing I'm considering is if I want a dedicated f1-f12 row.

Maybe you should get a new non CS game instead of a new keyboard >_<

Hope it's not their business model to come as close as they can to giving the customer what they want but never exactly what they want. Maybe their primary market doesn't buy TKL? Just guessing. If it was my company and I released some cream cheese dyesub cap sets with black legends and they immediately sold out and all that was left in the world was the blank ones and laser engraved ones, I would get busy and make some more and know better next time. Hopefully that is happening because I don't want to buy a full board just to scrounge the caps off it.

Witcher 3 isn't out yet.
Also, Objection!!!
Arguementative, maybe you should slide on a cloud of tits.
This is geelhack there is no such thing as no reason not to get a new keyboard.
Jokes aside, red is my favorite MX switch and is the best for gaming.
