On keyboards, what is your preference?
I think it always depends on the board that you're using, but at the moment on my Noppoo Choc Mini i'm just alternating depending on how my typing is that day, if it's not on form, I'll switch the feet down and the vice versa.
So yeah, what about you?

I have seen this thread before somewhere on here...
Feet down. Always down.
-
Feet up always.

Why always down if you don't mind me asking? is it just a comfort thing or?

It's supposedly more ergonomic. Plus for gaming, I much prefer my keyboard to be as flat as possible.

Oooh, is that so. I did not know that. Damn. Might have to use it down more often then!

Without a wrist rest, hands naturally relax down due to gravity. This would translate to a forward-leaning keyboard being more comfortable for most people. Elevating the part of the keyboard closest to your body is generally more ergonomic, but makes the keys harder to see (bad for beginners). Comfort is subjective and at least partly psychological, so some people will just prefer the opposite. I think keyboard "feet" are just a legacy thing. I never use them.
-
Ever since I bought one of the dampening mats from Fohat.Digs I've been going feet down on all my keyboards, I really like how sturdy everything feels typing on it. It's turned all of my topre boards into ghetto type-s'.
-
Feet down = more ergonomic so your wrist doesn't have to be as bent to use your keyboard. Imagine typing with your wrists bent at 90 degrees... it's an exaggeration of what feet up is at, but I just imagine that whenever I have to type on a keyboard with the feet up.
-
Down, too. If it is up, I tend to wrest my wrists on the desk more.

Feet down

Can we get some terminology clarification here?
When I think "Feet up" I think "Feet in the UP/IN position, inside the keyboard" and "Feet down" as "Feed in the DOWN/OUT position, touching the table".
Not sure what usage some people are using here, seems to be a mix.
I'd say "feet IN or feet OUT" to remove vagueness.
That being said - feet in on my AT, feet out on M's (but sometimes in too, varies).
-
Yeah, I meant feet IN. As in I do not use feet on my keyboards, the lower the better imo.
-
Feet out. I've always found it more comfortable.
-
How about "Do you use your keyboard feet, yes or no?"
No, I do not.
-
Without feet. With a palm rest for when I'm not typing. Wrists up during typing, so the angle is quite flat and doesn't put stress on them. Chair up, desk down so my forearms are flat or slightly down if possible.
-
My keyboard's feet are down. My feet are up.

This is confusing... Lol feet up or down. How about I say no feet :p
-
I use the feet. On cases that don't have feet, I fashion some out of whatever is handy. Typing without the feet just feels weird to me. I also don't use a wrist rest, it just seems to get in the way.
-
Stinky feet. Smelly feet. Dirty feet. Foot fetish.
-
I am always down for having them down. Always have, always will.

While that's better, I think the better question is: preferred keyboard angle?
For example, my lightsaver doesn't have feet but is up at a pretty steep angle. In contrast my pure is bolted to a metal plate and is at a flat angle.
My preferences depend heavily on keycap type: for example the highly sculpted keycaps of SP and the IBM pingmaster keyboards almost require a steep angle. On the other hand, flat profile keycaps are great with flat profile boards.

A curious statement as a a foot can also go up though.

I never use the feet on my keyboard. The angle is far more comfortable without them, for me anyway.
-
I think it probably also depends on your setup (height of the keyboard etc).
Though for me personally, I never use the feet *(so up I guess). I am always more comfortable letting my hands hang forward rather than having to tilt them backward. Even trying it out now while I am typing this I can tell instantly that my hands are not as relaxed as I have to arch them back a little. If I relax them, they automatically kind of turn forward and position themselves for use when the feet are not used.
-
Can't use the feet on my Ducky Mini because there are no feet :) No problem using it but it would be nice to have the option to use legs aswell.
-
feet up since its more comfortable when I type.
-
With OEM keycap profile I prefered feet up, with DSA keycap profile feet down.
-
Feet down, so that my wrists don't need to incline at all for my finger tips to be high enough to reach the top rows
-
No feet on my keyboard, just a slight angle. I don't use a wrist rest or anything either. When I use keyboards with feet I do tend to use the feet up though.
-
Feet up. Read somewhere that it's better for the wrist/hands.

Wait, I am confused. "Feet down" means using the feet, and "feet up" means not using the feet correct?
Maybe up and down are not the best description. "feet up" sounds like they are in use. But when you look at the keyboard, putting them "up" means not using them. Pulling them "down" is what you do when you do use them. Unless you flip over the keyboard and consider the way things look at that moment :-\
-
"Feet in" or "feet out" is better.
Or "No feet" or "Yes feet".
Or "I amputated my feet" or "I was born without feet".

Yeah, feet in or out would be a much better way to describe it.
-
Feet down. Feels more comfy to me.
-
Face down, ass up, that's the way we like to...
Ehhh. Feet down, fits better in my keyboard tray.
-
Yeah, I'm confused as what means what too. :D
I prefer feet "in". Keeps the keyboard flatter. Feels better on my wrists.
-
I like my board flat, but it will be interesting to feel how my V60 works with the Granite set... Seeing as I don't think you can make it flat =/

Hmm, I wonder if i'm the only person who uses reverse-feet-out (http://imgur.com/PNxYYsm.jpg).
Please do excuse the terrible quality photo(5am)
Don't even get me started on the Keycaps u_u

Your link doesn't work for me for some reason.
-
No feet, Heavy hitter :) keyboard stays better in place when it rests on the rubber stickers on 2 places rather than one.
-
I used to be feet up always. Now I'm feet down always.

Depending on how you sit behind the desk, this can make a lot of sense. I am sure there are more people who have found that a setup like that is most comfortable to them. I tried it out myself as well, but my desk is too high for this to be comfortable. Probably would still rather use feet like this than the traditional way where things arch upwards.

I like my keyboard's feet how I like women's feet: high up and wide apart

Oh my
-
Don't know why they even put feet on them. Awful. Never use em.
-
Metal cases don't have feet ;)
But in terms of having feet, I like 'em down and flat.

Your metal cases are lacking, then.
-
Feet up. I need the angle.
-
Never used feet. I usually remove them from my keyboads.
This was totally confusing to me before E TwentyNine clarified. Glad to know I was not alone :D
-

So you have a full size keyboard?
-
Another one for no feet. I have this weird habit of leaning in when I type that makes it uncomfortable to use the angle that the feet offer. I am also now aware of something I didn't think about before and now I wonder if anyone else notices. :'(
Instead of being productive at work today, I am probably just going to practice not shifting around so much when I type.
-
For me it depends on whether the keyboard is in my tray or on top of the desk. No feet if its in the tray and feet out if it's on top of the desk. Basically, whichever makes my wrists straighter.

I do not have a tray, but my wrists are straighter without feet regardless of whether I have the keyboard in a high or a low position.
-
Feet down. I don't see the point in elevation.
-
Flat keyboards are best. It is the way it is suppose to be for comfort.
Companies should not be making keyboards with feet. They serve no purpose.
-
I prefer keeping the feet in. If they're flipped out it tends to feel bad on my wrists after a few minutes.
-
I like to tickle my feet up and down every now and then.
-
I extend the feet on my keyboards. I prefer the feel of all my keyboards at a slight angle.
-
Feet out. Unless it's a keyboard with short feet and long feet, then I use the shorties.
-
I always type with my feet down. This give me a better angle for my wrists and then I can spend more time on my computer gaming or typing. Tried using them down when I first started and my wrists would hurt a lot after longer gaming sessions or typing on the computer.
