Title: Paypal help... I'm spending money that's not mine?

So I upgraded my bank account to a student account from a teen account recently or something? (I forget what they're called exactly, basically the account that you are required to have once you turn 18 by Wells Fargo), but forgot to update this on Paypal. I paid for something recently, and was really confused as to why the money wasn't being withdrawn from my bank account, before I finally checked the transaction details today and realized that the bank account number on Paypal didn't match my new one (I never realized this before because I had gotten used to seeing it).

Whose money did I just spend, and can anyone give me advice as to what to do? I currently plan on connecting my new bank account, adding money to paypal balance, and transferring back into old account in case Wells Fargo gets pissed at me or something, but I'm not sure if there is a better course of action.

I once had a bank account which I had approved an automated withdrawal for paying a phone bill. I wanted to switch to a new bank, and for the life of me I couldn't get the phone company to make the switch to the new account, so after months of frustration, I closed the unwanted account, figuring once the payment failed I'd surely hear from the phone company to arrange a new payment method. Fast-forward to the next automated bill pay cycle - the phone company requests the money from my now closed account. What does the bank do? They open back up the account, based on the request (because, according to them, I approved it once, so that means it is approved forever - even if I close the account) and I get an overdrawn notice in the mail alerting me to the fact that I now owe them the amount of the phone bill  PLUS an overdraft fee...on an account that I had closed! I was outraged. I had to go down there and sign some paperwork specifically stating they are not allowed to do that again.

So, long story short, yeah, I'd call the bank.

I called the bank and they said nothing is shown as being withdrawn from the old account as of today, and to call back tomorrow... guess I'll have to wait until then  :rolleyes:

Might be coming out of paypal "Bill me later" or I think they call it "paypal credit" now instead.  I would go check the paypal transaction details to know for sure where the funds were sourced from.

Well, issue resolved.

Paypal sent me emails this morning stating that the funds have been rejected from being withdrawn from that bank account for the reason that the account is closed, so they just charged my credit card instead.
