I've got a few of these and another member used one to make a switch tester once. The switches in these aren't good for much of anything but the plates nice to have.

Yup, I have a switch tester made from one of these. Think I bought it off Spamray.

Hmmm... 2 of them could be used to make a split matrix keyboard. Not that I like matrix layout, but...

Has anyone actually incorporated these into a real working keyboard?

Someone (dustin?) pointed me at something that looked very much like these, so I bought two (4x4).

The switches in mine will accept MX keycaps, although they feel just very slightly tighter than most other MX stems.

Yep I have one for holding MX switches. Switch tester. Got the idea from cptbadass!

I just put my keycaps on the switches that it came with.

holding MX switches or MX keycaps? I thought these weren't cherry MX switches.

These are not Cherry MX switches, but they (mine, at least) have MX-compatible stems.

Mostly.

The standard MX keycaps are a slightly tighter fit than genuine MX switches, but go on and come off ok.
