i've had a mechanical keyboard in my rotation for years now, first the CM Quickfire and now the Razer Blackwidow. looking to get away from mx blues and build a collection of keycaps. great to have found this site.

Welcome to Geekhack!

Any idea what you want to move towards, if you are getting away from MX blues?  I went to blacks, and reds.  And greens.  And buckling spring.  And Topre.  Too many choices!

thanks!

i've messed with reds, but never had a chance to fully test them. they feel fine, but not sure about how many typos i'd get out of them. since i'm so used to blues, i think maybe transitioning to clears or brown might be my best bet, but i definitely want something quieter.

Heh yeah, blues can be a bit clicky!

There is a lot of people liking clears - if you can find a keyboard with clears!

However browns are probably closer to reds in that red and brown are both fairly light switches.  Clears are somewhat heavier.

i've found one, the WASD Code keyboard, in clears. i'm going to try and borrow a friend's board with Reds before i completely rule them out just to be sure.
