I've bought keyboards, sold them, then re-bought the same model again numerous times.
So I'm guessing most of us buy seconds for a different location/computer. Fair enough!
I like/love the M, but I LOVE the F.
I like/love the M, but I LOVE the F.
Everybody should have a Model M. Tweak it, bolt-mod it, get it just the way you want.
That really is the standard by which everything else is measured. And yes, the Model F might go well over that "100" mark for feel.

Yeah, right.
When you prefer Reagan-era iron, you feel the need for backups, since your favorites may not be easily replaceable.
Modern commodities induce less paranoia, if all it takes is a little cash to start over fresh.

I have bought backups 2-3 deep on some of my favorites.
On a couple of occasions, I have sold a keyboard, regretted it, and replaced it.

Some keyboards are worth having more than once, just for having a backup etc.
So yeah would definitely buy like multiple hhkb
Hello, just curious how many of you have duplicates of the same keyboard? Or keyboards very similar that they are essentially the same. Or even different keyboards but same switches.
I know model M collectors would love having multiples to play with, but what about Filcos and what not?
I've owned a Filco Linear R TKL from a few years ago, loved it so much that I just got a Filco Ninja TKL with Red switches, essentially the same thing! I love my MX reds.
Just curious if any of you guys are weird like me and have duplicates of something, and let me know why! :)
I do have multiple same model keyboards, only reasons why I'd gotten them was because I wanted either different switch types, or case colors....Sick collection PadawanGeek, much jelly. :thumb:Show Image(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v333/mikeysg/20140813_231113_zps202f0b10.jpg)
I've bought a few duplicate boards and I have sold boards then bought the same type of board later.

Never...

This may sound strange, but with compact (<=60%) boards, you can buy two identical models and place them in a V shape on your desk to have uber ergo setup, as custom as it gets. This is genius.
It will make you look like a nutcase, however.

I forgot to list my reasons for having duplicate boards:
1. I have three workstations (one at home; two at work), and I need one keyboard for each of the three workstations.
2. I like to try out different keycaps, and having duplicate boards facilitates direct comparisons.
3. I like to experiment with different layouts, and having duplicate boards facilitates comparisons.

So many Decks. I've had other mechanical keyboards (QFR, Ducky) but they have not impressed me in terms of build quality. I collect Decks that aren't made anymore. I have issues. Dear Geekhack, I'm back, and I have Deck issues.
Bought HHKB Type-S, sold it, and then rebought it after realizing I liked Topre better than MX
Simple. Buy more TG3's :))So many Decks. I've had other mechanical keyboards (QFR, Ducky) but they have not impressed me in terms of build quality. I collect Decks that aren't made anymore. PS: How you do get around the ugly fonts on the decks?

Bought mx5000
Sold mx5000 because I needed money
Realised it's the best board in the world
Trying to get another

Just bought another SSK

I love KBs as much as anyone, but does the term "fetish" ever come up around here? I don't recall seeing it—but when I read about people buying the same KBs over and over, I can't help wondering... :D
My daily is an HHKB Pro JP since two years or so and I plan to buy a second one but for a specific reason: they're kinda hard to get at a good price and in case mine wouldn't work anymore or something I just couldn't stand having to wait several days for a new one to arrive. I know they're indestructible but what if I spill a can of coke on it or warm coffee or if I let it drop or if someone steals it, etc. :)

I know model M collectors would love having multiples to play with, but what about Filcos and what not?Yeah, I do model M's. But I've only bought one - I've never 'bought a keyboard twice'. That's because my first Model M was free, and I bought the second (for less than $20!)

Only by swapping the controller or using it with the 3161 terminal.I know model M collectors would love having multiples to play with, but what about Filcos and what not?Yeah, I do model M's. Yes, and the one you bought.... did you get it working yet?

I'm fine like that for now, thinking when I have time I'll make a membrane matrix decoder with my arduino.
Thanks for remembering, though! :)
