Title: Any Slackliners Out There?
Post by: Joey Quinn on Mon, 11 August 2014, 13:38:43
This is probably one of my favorite hobbies and I was wondering if anyone else here on GH is a slackliner. Right now I've got 4 lines.

[attach=1]

Pretty standard 1in primitive line for walking and a bit of surfing
Webbing: 100ft of 1in Bluewater climb spec tubular webbing the anchors are Bluewater 1in military spec webbing
Hardware: 3 rocklocks, 1 camp locking oval, 2 omega pacific rappel rings

[attach=2]

Probably my current favorite line it is a very portable super primitive line that is perfect for walking and balance training
Webbing: 80ft of 9/16in Bluewater climb spec tubular webbing
Hardware: 1 SMC rappel ring, 1 wiregate neutrino

[attach=3]

Gibbon Surfline I use this for jumps and other tricks
Webbing: 100ft of 2in webbing from gibbon
Hardware: Gibbon Ratchet

My last line is a beaten up gibbon classic red that I haven't used in a long time, I don't really like it much and I don't have any pictures of it.

I had to google to see what it was. I sometimes see people doing this in the park close to my house. I would like to try one time, but with my balance (or rather my lack of balance), I know I would be pretty hopeless.

My friends and I slackline whenever we go camping or rock climbing. It's a lot of fun!

Climbing is what started slacklining for me, I saw a few guys doing it at a local boulder gym and they let me give it a try. I love it as a cool down in between problems!

Missed this thread last time. I've slacklined a couple times and really enjoyed it but wasn't sure how to get started. I should pick this up in the spring, it was super fun.

Seriously! If you have any questions feel free to ask me, I'll be bringing a line to keycon so people can give it a shot.
