Title: Has anyone tried the ACK-230 soft touch?
Post by: IBI on Mon, 08 June 2009, 11:51:38
It appears to be some sort of hybrid mechanical/membrane keyboard like the model M and seems to be availible in germany under the keysonic brand for fairly cheap. (€16,55 here (http://www.watercooling.de/catalog/keysonic_kompakte_tastatur_schwarz_usb_anschluss-p-118715.html?utm_medium=CPC&) for example)

Don't bother with it.
Three months ago I've got one from a local Keysonic dealer but it was POS; much worst than other 10$ membrane keyboards I've used before.

You can get it even cheaper (http://geizhals.at/deutschland/a52703.html).

Judging from the price, I'd suggest it to be just a standard rubber dome board. Maybe the white plastic part is just there to keep the keycap from wiggling around too much.

Some old rubber dome keyboards (eg. Dell Quiet-Key) used a sort of pseudo-keyswitch construction between the keycap and the dome. Doesnt make much of a difference in my experience.
