Just for the record (so people aren't disappointed), these Dells are not clicky.  They are tactile, but the only sound comes from the bottoming and topping out of the switch.

Carry on.  Happy bidding.

It's not too good to be true, it's a cracking keyboard and very nice to type on. itlnstln was pointing out that it didn't click audibly, not that it was unpleasant in any way. I'm tempted to get it myself since I broke the shift key on mine when cleaning it up, but I'm in no hurry and will probably wait for one to come along in black.

QFT.  This Dell is one of my favorite keyboards.  It's fantastic.

You wait a month and then two come along at once, somebody's just posted another:

linky (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DELL-KEYBOARD-MODEL-AT102_W0QQitemZ230348103481QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Computing_ComputerComponents_KeyboardsMice?hash=item35a1d11f39&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A10%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A2%7C294%3A50)

This one is even cheaper, but it doesn't mention it's clicky so you might want to double check the model number or DP/M with the seller.

EDIT> See next post.

I hope not - I was the buyer and he sent a message to say it had been mailed. He had miscalculated the postage so ended up making a loss. Once it arrived I was going to voluntarily send him more money (assuming no problems.) I don't see why anyone should make a loss on a sale, business or otherwise.

Well mine turned up, so it's all above board. :clap2:
It's tactile but fairly quiet.
Still need to clean it up and test it.

EDIT> Tested OK.

I have a new one if anyone wants to buy it.
I like the black alps but can not use a full size board because of RSI.

I feel sorry for the person selling that second Dell keyboard - they have had to relist it 4 times so far.  I purchased it on the third relist, but the postal service quote ended up being £20 (to North America) instead of what the seller has originally thought, so we cancelled the deal.  Someone needs to buy this thing!

Actually it was on three times when you posted that, this (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DELL-KEYBOARD-MODEL-AT102W_W0QQitemZ230355084466QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Computing_ComputerComponents_KeyboardsMice?hash=item35a23ba4b2&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A10%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C293%3A13%7C294%3A50) is the fourth.

There's also another beige one here (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dell-PC-Keyboard_W0QQitemZ300329015875QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Computing_ComputerComponents_KeyboardsMice?hash=item45ed011a43&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A10%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C293%3A8%7C294%3A50) but only has AT102W in the description and only a generic 'Dell PC Keyboard' in the title and no mention of clicky so it may be less likely to attract a vote (not that they're in high demand).

Six more AT102W boards here (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250462011995).

New in box £14.45 inc postage.

All 6 still left! I guess people either don't know about the greatness of these keyboards, or they don't want a beige keyboard these days. Who can pass up the opportunity for a decent mechanical keyboard for the same price as a generic rubber dome? People go crazy over used IBM Model M's, even on eBay UK, yet these, nothing.

I'm tempted to buy one of these for work.

A bit of both, I'd say. Plus PS/2-only boards are a bit out of fashion with the regular consumer. Model Ms have a cult following, these Dells are not half as well-known.

Life is hard when you're a keyboard geek... :D

Yours truly cannot really resist piling 'em up either. As long as eventually there's a thankful recipient to be found, that isn't too bad actually...

I've been trying out the typing test at typingtest.com (I like this one because it doesn't FORCE you to go back and make corrections), and I'm finding that my speed and accuracy are better with the Dell AT101W than they are with the Cherry G80-3000. I like the Cherry, and I've been using it as my main keyboard for months, yet I'm a better typer on the Dell.

The Dell requires more force to press the keys than the Cherry does, but then I don't seem to bottom out as hard as I do on the Cherry, so perhaps overall fatigue levels out.

I really don't know which keyboard I prefer!
