Title: Roadtripping
Post by: Smasher816 on Wed, 13 August 2014, 18:29:27
Well, as some of you know I will be attending college in Santa Clara, CA this fall (late September). Instead of flying again my mom thought it would be a fun idea to take a few days off and road trip across the country doing some sight seeing. Right now I am in Missouri. The current plan is to head south to Oklahoma City and then head west through New Mexico and Arizona. Then maybe drop by EK, and head up the coast of Cali. Any suggestions?

Another GH roadtrip! Sounds awesome!

I suggest you meet up with as many GH'ers as possible.

I suggest checking out this site roadsideamerica (http://www.roadsideamerica.com/), and finding interesting things to visit along or with only slight detours along your route. I've had some good times visiting some quite bizarre things on road trips I wouldn't have ever known about if it wasn't for that site.

New Mexico and Arizona are beautiful states, especially in fall.  I recommend taking a day hike up some mountains into a lush mountain meadow.  And maybe going up above the treeline so you view the world from the top.

I spent a week in the mountains of NM once. It was beautiful and I highly recommend spending some time there.
