Title: Unknown brandless keyboard?
Post by: demiurge on Thu, 14 August 2014, 09:21:48
Just went to a garage sale and picked up a couple of old keyboards for $10. But I know next to nothing about mechanical keyboards and would like to learn a bit more.

One is an IBM of some sort and comes with the little trackpoint. I love my thinkpad x200 keyboard but this feels a little sluggish and I don't think I like it.

The other I have no idea about. It comes in a box without a maker's brand and doesn't have any stickers on the keyboard itself for identification. It's advertised to be some sort of ALPS switch? I like this one a lot more. It seems nice and clicky, but I need to get a DIN to PS/2 adapter to properly try. Anyway any info on this would be helpful. Is it just some sort of cheap knockoff?

IBM SSK II - space saver 2 model with rubber domes, it is TKL with trackpoint.

The other one is a clone of the IBM Model F AT, with white Alps.
