Crepuscular. One of my favorites, and you get to use it more often than you'd think.
Perambulate is another good one you can use all the time :)

Ehh, that's not a new word, it's pretty banal in my experience.  If you want interesting new words, the OED word of the day has cool ones about half the days in a month.  One of my favorites is still narcokleptocracy.

Yeah, you're way off.  Narco, as in drugs.  Look up the definition and it is pretty interesting, at least if you're interested in poly sci, global politics, and the drug war.

my point wasn't to nail the definition, only that it's not that... interesting..

VS    "  Flout  "

you'd think it'd be a fish.. or something like float... or flaunt..  but no.... it's Flout...

It is quite interesting, but apparently not to you.  Flout is a word that I learned in 4th or 5th grade though, so not interesting to me.

Since you're so picky, here are some fun ones.:

agnoiology, n.
[‘ The study of the nature of ignorance or of what it is impossible to know; a particular theory concerning this. Cf. epistemology n.’]

franch, v.
[‘ intr. To feed greedily (on). Also trans.: to devour.’]

philosophunculist, n.
[‘ A petty or insignificant philosopher.’]

discalceate, v.
[‘ intr. To remove one's shoes, go barefoot, esp. as a token of reverence or humility.’]

pithanology, n.
[‘ Persuasive or seductive speech or argument; sophistry.’]

oxter, v.
[‘ trans. To support by the arm, walk arm in arm with; to take or carry under the arm; to embrace, put one's arm around.’]

nullibiety, n.
[‘ The state or condition of existing nowhere; non-existence.’]

ochlophobia, n.
[‘ Fear of or aversion to crowds.’]

parvanimity, n.
[‘ Smallness of mind, meanness; an example of this. Also: a small-minded person.’]

metagrobolize, v.
[‘ trans. To puzzle, mystify, confound.’]

ploce, n.
[‘ The repetition of a word in an altered or more expressive sense, or for the sake of emphasis.’]

moider, v.
[‘ trans. To confuse, perplex, bewilder; to exhaust, overcome, stupefy; (occas.) to pester (cf. mither v. 2). Chiefly refl. or in pass.’]

philosophaster, n.
[‘ A person who engages in shallow or pretentious philosophizing; a pseudo-philosopher.’]

nidor, n.
[‘ The smell given off by animal substances, esp. of a fatty or greasy nature, when cooked or burnt. Also: any strong or unpleasant odour, vapour, etc.’]

One of my favourites is anathema.

Describes something abominated by, and hence anathema to, someone.

I have heard other people say it about 3 times ever, and one of those was in jest.

That was one of the words we learned in my English class Sophomore year.  Anathema - a greatly disliked person or thing.

Exactly - such a person or thing would be anathema to you.

Paroxysm is another word that people should use more often.  Paroxysm of rage.  Paroxysm of joy.  Now it appears 6 times in GH threads ;)

I hope you guys don't think only large words are the coolest. What about such short-but-sweets like swazzle and swoose, quokka or quief, burgoo and eyot?

Pai pai..

Your methods of trolling is too trite and hackneyed

You must be at least somewhat innovative..   Otherwise, your attention seeking is too obvious, and thus others will see you as crass unlearned..

In truth there is very little difference in objective between anything people say over the internet..

However.. it is in HOW we say it that decides how much information is carried across...
